I have to say it sounds ALL TOO FAMILIAR! I may be wrong but dear god I laughed my ass off! now with all die respect to those members on the other forum whom are MODS on it and also members here can we please ban this guy for life? I know if i was blue I'd feel the same way no matte what the circumstances were! Its not a witchunt but I really dont want any PG members getting sucked in here! Algeeater and Feylya and also lex dont take offence cos none is meant but listen to what blue is saying please!!! Its right and sadly you guys must know that!

Thanks asm. I have used gold leaf on furniture making before and some varnishes made it turn a greeny bleach colour! I know its ambitious doing a whole guitar but i think it will look great if done right. My stress really comes from smothing over the clear coats and not taking too much off or disturbing the gold leaf!

Hi guys I have a Jem I'm finishing at the moment which I want to finish in a Gold Leaf. Ontop of which I'm obviously planning the usual clear coats... my question is has anyone used Gold Leaf before? Are there any real things I need to look out for when lets say covering the heels? Or even spraying the clear? I'm worried that it may for some reason discolour when I spray the clear ( I'm paranoid ). So if anyone knows or has experience with this please get in touch. Also I want to do a gold vine throughout the neck. I've got it all routed but obviously cant afford to use real gold!! ( Hey I'm married ) So I was thinking of either using Brians tut re the pyramid method using clear acrylic? Or maybe brass? Again any suggestions would be cool! Thanks guys and I'll post pics of the Gold Leafing for a possible futre tut if anyones interested! Cheers!

Thats great thanks guys! I actually have a friend who uses it for flux welding also but we were unsure if we could use the same stuff for reducing the density of water! Anyway I'll give it a go and thanks for your advice!!

Hi all I've been trying to find Borax in Australia for an upcoming swirl job I want to do. I've tried everywhere, Bunnings, walmart, Mitre 10 and even some commercial paint suppliers with no luck?! Does anyone know where you can buy it in Australia??? Any help would really be appreciated! Cheers guys!

Just over two and a half years silver, but when we originally got married due to work we both couldnt go on the honeymoon or really enjoy it. So thats why we thought why not do it again! I actually know Buxton well as I used to live in Congleton Cheshire just across the hills! there was a company called Peak Aquatics I used to buy stuff off regularly, We used to go there and snowboard in the winter! Hey all, well i just got back from Fiji where myself and the wife did the whole renewing of vows thingy... Today i've been emailing the family back home sone photos so i thought I'd stick a couple on here. Fiji was fantastic, we got Married again on the Beach at sunset. I highly reccommend if anyone is thinking about going there and getting Married there! Oh and yes I do look a lot like Matia only older ( for those of you who remember!! ) And no laughing at my balding hairline!

Sorry to hijack the thread but this has me interested. I was thinking of using copper sheet to use as a top to my next project for the body! Does this mean that the pickups will get bad feedback? Or could they be insulated against it. I thought with thte way copper tends to green over time it could look kinda cool...

I just got a few blank pieces of Pine ( yesh i know its not the right wood ) radiused them and practised fretting on them until I got it. That was using Brians Tut on the main site. Wes is right its something you just cant do straight out which is why I used the pine for practise. once I felt confident enought I went for it proper and had already learnt most of what can go wrong with the pine that cost me about $5. hell of a lot cheaper than working on any guitar neck! But I'm glad now that I did!! try it!
