  1. gotta go for the old guys who drum.. young drummers (around here.. of course i base my opinion on my own experiances! cmon now!) tend to be a little more cocky and arrogant about their slight skill. i know the 4 drummers in my home town here, and all four of them barely pass punk music standards, let alone rock or jazz or blues (not that punk is lower standard, but i notice THEIR style of punk is very simple) meanwhile the two older drummers ive met in the music stores and local band get togethers have great talent, but arent cocky or arrogant... in fact, they are so truthfully modest, it sickens me! those type who your like "DUDE you rule on that, man you have some uber skill" and they reply "well, im good enough to keep a beat, but im nowhere near being as good as you say"... the sick part is that one of them plays bass and guitar as well, and kicks ass! i never saw slap pops done in my life before he showed it to me, and my god... ive never seen it done so well in my life since! (though.. its only been about 4 months lol) im dragging on.. later!
  2. if my mother would have let me play drums, i would be a drummer... i have that drummer attitude heh! but instead she was a nazi and now i play guitar... though i wanted to play bass, but my dad was a commie and wouldnt take me to the music shop unles i was buying a guitar... i was lucky to come out with an electric, because him AND mum were both pretty set on me buying an acoustic with my own money. oh, and when i gave them my second choice after drums.. they just didnt answer me.. i guess bagpipes doesnt interest them much
  3. insomnia = sleepless nights sleepless nights = lots of sex therefore insomnia = lots of sex photoshop = picture editing picture editing = photos + talent therefore photoshop = photos and talent so insomnia + photoshop = lots of sex + photos + talent and we all know that lots of sex + photos + talent = late night spam! ^^^also a result of insomnia.. couldnt tell if its good or bad O.o^^^ on a serious note... do you know how to use photoshop well? is was that just messin around like i tend to do?
  4. slightly. more of a hard rock / country / blues / theme song kinda guy... but most hard rock i listen to i never make out the lyrics, and country and blues is just simple songs.. nothin spectacular =D. but your right on a level... some days i just wouldnt want to be without somethin like misfits or bad religion or nofx or afi or guttermouth or.... i was once a punk fan i suppose.. lol
  5. doofenaightly ham! reminds me of something else.. something called newfoundland steak!
  6. i enjoy political bands quite a bit. bands like NOFX and bad religion in particular. most of the time i just avoid their cd's on my shelf, but sometimes when its late in the night, i turn the lights down low and pull out NOFX, and ponder about how twisted the world is.. heh heh heh
  7. woah thats cool.. surfin through i saw this line and knew the answer. the shape of a guitar is appealing because it resembles a womans figure. stand your up so the neck points up and take a look and the face. you probably already figured that out... in fact i think im just saying somethin everybodys noticed at one point or another.. so ill stop... ---> sorry for goin off topic, but its all i had to say for the most part.
  8. i have every cd i can find by nirvana. i dont think you need to be technical to be good. its true a ferari looks and sounds and drives and is an orga(can i say this word here?)zm, but when you get down to it, bicycles are by far more easier to maintain, fuel, and store. catch my metaphor? yes, yes i have. i think its uhh... horrid looking. i didnt know he could play though. isnt it shaped like his symbol? . also, like ive said before, i like white stripes, but i think the need a 3rd person to play bass. but they dont need to because their doin fine as is now anyways! and whats her face does compliment the music.. simple is as simple goes. simple music for people who apreciate sound rather than talent. not that being a talent hunter is bad, its just you miss out on music thats kinda cool like the stuff from nirvana and white stripes. what about the beatles? their stuff isnt really that bad in my opinion, yet LOTS of people seem to like em. mabey im wrong, but i dont care. thanks for your attention!
  9. Hail for I am king of not looking back in forums! Ok, so what band, artist, or whoever have you encountered with the best lyrics, and worst? For me, the best lyrics have come from a band. A band known to some, and who have come a long way from their beginning, some 14 years ago. After 7 full albums, the lyrics being pumped out of a fire inside's (afi) workshop are amazing. I find their depth of knowledge in the field of language is beyond so many other bands I’ve listened to. Their music however is simply par… As far as signed bands go. Now for the worst! I’ve listened to atrocities before, but never with such magnitude as one band. However many years they've been playing, their one Michael Jackson remix (rock band mind you), and two albums... (I own both ironically)... you would think even a six-year-old could be more creative than Alien Ant Farm. Ok, so this is obviously an opinion thread. I’m just pointing it out for a couple reasons I’m sure you brains can figure out.
  10. so today i found a riff thats absolutely amazing to play. its not hard, its not amazing, and it probably doesnt sound good either, but i find it fun as hell to play. its "circles" by "rainbow butt monkeys"... and i give ten points to anyone who can come up with what rainbow butt monkeys are called today (yes, yes its a real band)
  11. good eye. so does this mean that all the null voters are slackers for not reading the topic line? ill let you decide actually, i didnt notice myself. i just voted from the options given to me heh.
  12. if i could find a woman who actually apreciates music, id never leave the house.. except when my daily urge to go outside comes heh. most ladies i chat with now a days are into rap, or pop, and we all know rap is one letter short of crap
  13. my thoughts exactly! nothing shows your skill via internet better than an old fashioned picture... or video lol. is it possible to make a fretless guitar?
  14. their older stuff is simple like inbred countryfolk. their early "hits" like fell in love with a girl is very simple.. in fact.. i think it was one of the first songs i have ever played. seven nation army... i wont touch that subject (i ge too excited). umm. in my opinion, they make music thats really good if your cruisin with no place to go. any other time, i cant help but notice the lack of bass, and i dont play bass. on another note, i dont know too many female drummers. shes not bad lookin either compared to a couple people who refuse to catch my drift, and continue to follow me around. and she plays bare foot! i tried playin bare foot and it either a)froze, or felt like an uncontrolable inferno on my foot.
  15. i wont be scared to admit that im probably wrong. i am however scared that someone could take the time to tab it not knowing that it wasnt clapton
  16. i couldnt get out of voting carlos. but if you had steevie ray vaughn, he would have gotten my vote. he inspires me, unlike any other guitarist ive heard... dont know why... mabey its the fact that hes good, and plays blues.
  17. Umm... that's Mason Williams. actually, clapton made a version that didn't involve instrumental input. it was pure classical guitar. if your into downloading, search for his version and see the differance. if you want a link to a tab of his version, go here. i can only assume that he made a version of his own. lol, i guess my finger slipped
  18. best - cole harbour coffee house. im too big a fan of small intimate local bands playing to the taste of good coffee to say its NOT my favorite. worst - well, i dont think ive ever been to a truely great or terrible concert, but over the summer i went to see def leppard. a string broke on the bass.. thats all i can complane about.. other than the fact that i only saw the end of a like 9 girl flash. it was so noticable that the singer got stunned and paused a second lol.
  19. these are actually in order: 1. classical gas - clapton 2. blackbird - beatles (only beatles song i like) 3. wonder whats next - chevelle 4. dueling guitar and banjo 5. hit the floor - linkin park recognizable mention goes to the "fell in love with a girl - white stripes" because its the first riff i ever learned how to do well.
  20. cyberfret.com is my absolute favorite place to go. ive combed that site and learned a lot. i found the "technique" section of it exceptional. simple explanations to techniques, AND videos of how its done.. from differant angles. anyways, thats the site i like. it might have your answers, it might not. i think its worth a spot in most peoples favorites list
  21. my bad, didnt mean to start anythin. *has a better idea of what people talk about now for tele vs strat* im goping to have to make a huge trip of like 3 hours to the music store and try out everything i possibly can lol bass, acoustic, electified wood, hell ill even try drums or somethin like that XD
  22. ok, so whats the differance. strats differ from tele's how? ive never been told the diff, and because of it ive never been able to pick it out myself.
  23. thats cool. i hadnt thought you were soliciting, but if i found one like that kind of sound id probably splurge.
  24. lex has mine. ever since i layed eyes on the concept of a 5 string fretless.. well i fell in love. looks sweet, people would be amazed when you play it, and its just so cool! though i must admit, if it wasnt for my little fantasy, i would have one rough time voting
