  1. That's what I've been doing, I sand the edges of the body blank on my bench sander first to get them nice and straight and smooth for the router guide to move against.

You're right it's a very disturbing case, not only the murder of those poor kids but how 3 guys can be convicted of a crime that (in my opinion) they never comitted.

  10. I'm not sure about the finish yet, I like Walnut but I'm not too sure how it will look with the maple fretboard.
  11. I have no idea how it was damaged, looks like it's been dropped/thrown from quite a height. It was actually still working perfectly when I brought it Here's a better shot....
  12. I wanted a bass guitar to use for recording at home, so I brought a cheap damaged P-Bass copy from ebay and decided to make a new body for it. Altough it's covered in dust and dirt, all the parts I need are in good condition Here's the damage....ouch! Here's the wood I'll be using, 1 piece African Walnut from Craft Supplies. I don't want to build an P-Bass style body, so I've been messing around with a few designs, I kinda like this one but I've still not made my mind up. All comments/advice welcome
  13. I brought the Charvel at the begining of this year, it's a Fusion Custom model and I payed £190 for it .For a 14 year guitar it's in great shape, very little fret wear and the best Schaller floyd I've come across you can dive bomb all day and it will stay in tune. But I'm afraid the spangly paint job is not my cup of tea so I'm painting it black
  14. Got my Carrol drum sander today and started to sand the waist area, need to get a smaller one to get inside the top horn...ahh more money Couldn't resist putting the neck in place to see how the finished guitar will look
  15. www.craft-supplies.co.uk e-mail them for a 'Tone Wood' catalogue, there's also... www.touchstonetonewoods.co.uk www.luthierssupplies.co.uk
  16. Not much progress this week I'm afraid, but I have sanded the areas I can reach with my belt sander. I've also at long last brought a drill press and as soon as my drum sander arrives from Craft Supplies (hopefully today) I can start sanding the hard to reach areas.
  17. Jeez I wish my friends could build me guitars like that Great work
  18. I didn't glue the top on it was already glued when I brought it, right or wrong it still looks good to me

  20. I've decided to sell my Rhoads body to help fund some new tools So if anyone wants to give her a good home....... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=3730974012 UK BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE
  21. www.craft-supplies.co.uk ... ask for there 'Sound Wood' catalogue, their main catalogue is also really good for tools etc.
  22. Today I've finished the pickups and cut out the rough shape with my jigsaw, had a bit of a problem doing the upper horn, my jigsaw has a tilting base so you can cut angles and just as I was cutting the last part the jigsaw tilted slightly .... it got quite close to the line but didn't ruin anything time to tighten those bolts I think
  23. It's one of these things.... I can't remember who makes them?
