  1. I think id rather talk about guitars please I think its pretty cool of Brian to step up and give this little reminder too. Everyone can use a good kick up the arse every now and again. - Dan
  2. Thats downright sexy Wes, and from start to finish in under 3 months? Score - Dan
  3. i want to say 7 or 8 weeks ← thats awesome! You say you 'want to say' it was 7-8 though... does that mean it was longer? - Dan
  4. Looks awesome Wes! It must be a truly killer guitar Now, fingers crossed I can get my custom from Perry by my birthday and be as happy as you - Dan

  6. My vote is for the Gotoh 510. I used one of those on a friends warmoth guitar and it had quite a nice feel to it, and it looked good on his guitar too (carved top soloist). Here is a shot of a different carved top soloist with the 510 from the warmoth gallery too: http://www.warmoth.com/gallery/Images/Solo...sonfrench2m.jpg - Dan
  7. I can recommend Perry Ormsby, who resides here in Australia (which may or may not be suitable for you). He is an excellent builder, however keep in mind, as with any custom guitar builder, you have to be patient... which I am not so good at So yeah, just keep that in mind, but that said, Perry's work is flawless. Check out http://www.ormsbyguitars.com. He has a bit of a backlog of work building up from what I can tell, but then again, in my opinion you'd have to be pretty lucky to find a talented professional builder that doesnt. - Dan Oh, and I dont think I could go without at least putting in a small plug for David Myka... who is THE MAN in the states haha Check out http://www.mykaguitars.com
  8. Whoa... I had no idea From the looks of things it was revived just so someone could pimp out Mark Tremonti... lol
  9. Who the hang is buckethead? lol - Dan
  10. For some reason whenever I look at that I see a headless chicken haha Lovely looking wood though! - Dan
  11. I personally think it looks quite cool. I certainly wouldnt pay that much for it, and I would rahter more detail went into the finishing, but on the whole I would love to own and play a guitar like that. I do however, draw the line at ones like that ESP customshop crazy thing that someone posted a while back... that was just ridiculous. This guitar here is basically just working on some lovely 3d art into an existing body shape that worked well... and I can dig that
  12. they are actually very nice, just like what is on the site.the reason they look a bit wierd is because of the condensation...it is very humid here and when i take it out of the a/c it collects moisture all over...even on the finish. that's wht you can't read the laser engraving...but it is there.and they are actual metal covers, not plastic ← Ah, that sorts it then. If you ever get any nice pics of it that show off hte pickups more be sure to post them please - Dan
  13. Personally I thought the compliments were well deserved, I dont think there is any doubting that... but yeah, imo I think that is all he meant. Also, the 25th anniversary EMG's look weird... I have to be honest, for $250USD I was expecting more... the pics on their site were nice shiny PAF style things with laser engraving on them from what I remember... those ones almost look like they are plastic thats been hit with some silver paint Is it just the photos? - Dan
  14. Can anyone else read why he burnt that first guy that asked a question in the initial listing? The Indonesian guy? Whenever I go to read the full thing it just sends me to a page where I can ask a question and doesn't show me the previous ones... From what I can see he gave the guy a good tounge-lashing... so much for "upholding and embracing the core values that are the very foundation of Ebay" - Dan
  15. lol, I thought exactly the same thing after reading the first page or so ... and really, thats all I wanted to say, no hidden meanings i swear! however... I am a bit jealous that I dont have that guitar, or the skills to build it that well - Dan Edit: Just saw the final pictures... wow! looks awesome man. What sort of pickups are those? Are they just EMG's with some TLC? Personally I would have got a kick out of just the plain look of the black covers on that guitar, but hey, its your guitar, thats just me. Kickass dude... I love the headstock too. - Dan
  16. Ooohh, be sure to keep us all in the loop on how your tests go David, I know there are a lot of people out there who are interested in the KTM-9 lacquer, and it would be great to get an opinion on it from someone such as yourself after your familiar with it. - Dan
  17. I played one of these the other day in a guitar shop near me and it was very nice: http://www.music123.com/Washburn-D46S-i20161.music It had just been set up though and had new strings, so it was probably at its peak playability wise - Dan
  18. Yeah, sounds like it was a pretty silly decision on their part to use such a cheap guitar to begin with. I mean, it would have jacked up the total price sure, but the majority of people that are willing to part with $800US+ for a guitar in the first place are also the folks most likely to care about those sorts of things. - Dan
  19. I like what you've done with your guitar man, very cool! - Dan
  20. Pretty silly, but I hadn't even noticed the price (not that I dont undertstand its high price given the size of hte operation), but thats fair enough. - Dan
  21. Check out the Stetsbar, like marksound suggested... no harm in checking it out. - Dan
  22. Don't the anniversary strats have locking tuners and a roller nut already? or is that only certain models? -Dan
  23. Well, im looking at picking up one of these: http://www.marshallamps.com/images/products/tsl/tsl122.html, or perhaps the 60w version without the 3rd EQ. Both of these have footswitchable effects loops, so I think that might be good enough for what im after. Its a pity I cant have it located all in 1 unit for simplicty (not just physically, but like, have a bypass patch, and when i turn off the bypass im actually going to another patch sort of thing), but the only time I would really get into trouble with that is if I was using some overdrive from the GT-6 onto the gain channels of the marshall and I wanted to quickly change to a clean sound But it is a small price to pay really, aside from getting into a whole MIDI setup which I dont even understand haha - Dan
