    ok well i have a epiphone LP custom, i thought it being a hard tail and set neck guitar would mean its sustain would be pretty good. However, im quite dissapointed about it. My yamaha pacifica 112 only just manages to sustain longer and its a bolt on with a trem (is also 70 quid cheaper). 1)Is there anyway i could improve the sustain without doing something too major? 2)How long would good sustain be? (not talking about sustain that gouse on for ever, something reasonable) I appologise if this thread has been done before any help or advice would be appreciated

    ^^^ buying the neck would defeat the purpose of making it...

    check ebay, they have alot of templates for sale there, or just type it in google and search, you'll be suprised with the outcome. Is this the first time making a neck through? i suggest you practice on mdf or something before doing the real thing, even with a template you will make alot of mistakes. Making a mistake on a neck through would be painfully cost worthy if you could not undo it. Get your practice in first untill you think your ready. now enough talking about sex and onto the subject

    Im currently building my strat from scratch, all i need to do now is routing and my dragon design that im gonna put on it, after that i might make a V or another strat.

    i need to try out D'Addarios, Im using the Ernie ball hybrid slinky (.09-.46) I also need a higher gauge... I used to play on .13-.52 <---something like that, cant remember now . (remember when going to that gauge....theres alot of trem adjusting to do...mine was floating like 2cm in the air, was shitting myself Thoguh when i changed back to .9's i broke the high E string straight away...aparently i didnt realise how easy it was now to bend .

    Guitars.....for some reason when i finger my guitar it makes a better noise then when i do it to girls ROMAN!!!!WOOT, never knew you were a member here....though i should have guessed o btw its Nejad

    ^^^^ in australia? I voted standard, though i do use alot of other tunings like Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb and other wierd tunings like the ones Creed use, its a pain for me to play but i can't resist

    ive been playing for about 1year and 7 months. Im the best in my school and have played for the least amount of time . Even better then my teacher who has played for over 15 years though i did have to break his fingers......

    yeah you can try ebay. They should have a few up for say, i mean proper luthier templates. Its where i got mine from, you can get strats to flying V's they have a quite a few to choose from, just search for guitar templates on emaby, or something like that. Hope i was of some help

    Thx for the welcome, i came on here to learn and thats what i did . Ill be customizing my guitar after my GCSE's which isnt too long now. I can't wait ill post some stuff on it when i start the project.
