  1. he redrew the ibanez logo to make it vector format, and that looks cad or vector.. so ill take he drew it for 100 please
  2. i think your looking for a Gate. a gate cuts off desired frequencies, like an EQ or a hi/low shelf, but the gate eleminates a frequency instead of lowering it or raising it like an EQ. so say i want to cut the lows on female vocals cause i was picking up a 60hz hum in the studio, then slap a gate and adjust it so anything less than 300hz is cut out. that what your looking for? t
  3. i think i heard someone say that with kiln its like 1-3months per 1" instead of a year per 1" if true, id find somone with a kiln, dont know how you go about that and asking them if you can put it in there and how much they charge though. tell us how it goes. t
  4. im looking for walnut like that, where did you get it? and where did you find long strips for the neck like that?
  5. ive cut open a 2" piezo buzzer from radio shak and converted the signal to an XLR cable then put in thru a board and it was a pretty hot signal. sure you need a pre amp?
  6. please tell me your not gonna paint over or stain that awesome wood!? please?
  7. what would happen if you angled the graphite rods so they follow the width of the neck? i always see everyone putting them straight with the truss rods. any ideas?
  8. how thick of a top did you start off to carve from? care to give width and lengths too? t
  9. wow. that thing sounds awesome. i totally didnt think it would sound like it looked! question- what is it tuned to, and your using 3 nylon and 3 steel right? t
  10. hehe. the pickups look like they have an aluminum cover and the neck fooled me for being rosewood. nice! how much did the laser engraving cost? t
  11. TDM or LE? what kind of hardware?
  12. sorry to thread hijack but i wanna hear it! can you post some sounds and pics please?
  13. two questions... 1. what kind of pickup covers are those? 2. where did you get the wood for that neck? its AMAZING! beautiful work! t
  14. http://www.prsguitars.com/pickups/pickups_fs.html you decide
  15. are you talking about inlay (abalone and plastic inlay) or a coloring or texturing effect to a body/neck? maybe hes talking about relicing?
  16. new mask=weak stealing the moveable geometry patterns that Tool has been using for YEARS and putting their logo in it=even weaker new guitar=pretty nice if it didnt have that weird shape on the back of it, front looks nice.
  17. i think you might have probelms getting a good mix live unless you have alot of mic's (and channels). main reason is the drums, say you want a kick, a sm57 on the snare, and a 57 on the toms and an overhead sm57 on the high hat and cymbals. well, theres all you 4 imputs right there, and unless you went from there to a mixer and out one track its gonna cause trouble. thats a small setup on drums too, alot of people in the studio setup a drum with 6-9 mics. (of course you can just do an overhead or a pair of them but its not going to be near as good of a dynamic range as you could have) so....alot of inputs=alot of money needed for gear.
  18. i like it! critique: -dont pan the rythm and lead stricly left and right, do a lttle rythmn in the both and vice versa, gives it a good full surround sound. -timing seems to be off on the drums and playing tricks with the ears while lead is playing sorta -rythmn guitar delay is a little to wet -hold chords on rythmn a little more? (sustain wise) so its not so choppy. -make bass a little more present in the mix. -make kick more present too. -tighten that snare up, sounds almost like a kick or a small tom and, make it an mp3 hope that helps! very nice work, what did you record it on/with? 10x props for all doing it yourself t
  19. i agree with greg. i do the panning trick to. if you have alot of channels (a bigger board) you can bus out from say 4 tracks to 1 then that track to your interface. or, say you have six channels, pan 3 hard right, pan 3 hard left, then run left channel in and right channel in (instead of going to PA system).
  20. sound--->small 6 or 8 channel Behringer mixer--->mbox or Maudio interface--->computer 400-600$ problem (obvious) on smaller end stuff is the amount of tracks you can record at once, so you can go 6 or 8 in the mixer then 2 out to an mbox. so drums and bass on one track, guitars on other, then dub voices. dont know how many the mAudio brings in, probably 2-3 my school has 2 protools|HD interfaces and a ProControl 24 board 16 tracks can be recorded at once
  21. reason that is because Stone Sour (same guitarist and singer as slipknot) uses an Ubershall. those things sound NICE! Boutique Amps=
  22. what are some good resources for stone or fake stone? i want some flat pieces of stone for inlay, but with more color sources than just abalone and cheaper. so i thought stone would be a good thing to use since its abundant and has nice one-off patterns unlike most plastics. any ideas? i know it takes a special saw or maybe just a special blade on a scroll saw? prices? thx for any help t
