  1. The F hole is just wide enough to pass the pots through. If I did the Z I had no way of getting the pots through. I am very good at wiring, hence the business I run on the side, and have fixed countless basses and guitar that are wired like this. Just take some fishing wire tape it to the end of the pot, and screw it on, its actually pretty easy to do...
  2. I can push the wires out of the way, This was the first setup, so I can adjust them. Thanks for the input Dave, the back of the guitar is solid, so I can only access from the from. its nice not to have to rout out a control cavity.
  3. I was going to do the z hole but I could not get it to look right...
  4. Well I finished the Panga panga guitar. Its been hollowed out, so that it rings and rings. All maple neck. Humbucker pickups with custom made rings. and yes the neck is off a bit. my templated slipped as I was routing, so I just finished it anyway, what would some of you had done? I finished it, its a free guitar for my cousin who currently plays but does not have a guitar so he can't complain... Actually this is one of my first guitars to use almost all templates, the building went really smooth and to be honest, the neck is very nicely done if I must say so myself. even right after setting it up the action is super low and plays great... Also for those of you who want to hear what it sounds like, here is my bad playing... Guitar tone Coils taps with a f hole full guitar
  5. to be devils advocate... Do they do that for acoustics? I had a blues hawk and I know they painted the inside of that... gosh I am learning stuff today!
  6. why would you seal the chamber with paint? not an oil? wouldn't the paint ruin the point of chambering? just curious...
  7. the Home Depot that I was at was out, and the ace did not carry it. Got some at sears hardware. Cut it with a router bit high speed, or a drill press. someone else have a better way?
  8. was just in lockport nice area, will be busy this week with cog hill
  9. ugh naperville il snob city usa...
  10. I think I am going to go buy some watermellons. Mellons mmmmmm... Nice Brian very nice.
  11. I have an ureal set of flammed satinwood. I have 5 sets that are so beautiful. Deep yellow wood easy to finish sounds awesome... 75 bucks shipped. this is the pic that have of the auction that I am running, I have three other sets that are just a nice, and one set that I am calling angle wings, this set will be 150. the flames look like angle wings. each piece measures 7x20x1/4
  12. you know whats great about a fretboard is that you can use any wood that you want. The harder the wood the more your notes spring off the fretboard, if its hard to cut smells good, and looks cool use it. Soft woods like quilted maple and alder, basswood, poplar are not always the best... Most of the expensive guitars out there use really hard woods to get the great tone, gibson uses ebony, and I have seen some other cool woods out there too, satin wood tulip wood king wood, brazilian rosewood, all tough as nails..
  13. Switchcraft best out there. Mostly american made. electronics in EPI are really low quality.
  14. I can make a custom bubinga bass blank for any of you guys. send me a Private email. Cost for a blank is 100 bucks, shipped. can make them from this piece. Or if you want a guitar top I can do that too. This are real nice stable pieces...
  15. yea panga panga was fully surfaced. A little dust, there was a knot in the wood that I just left. Panga panga is a rare wood from Brazil, machines well and sounds pretty good for this body will post pics soon.
  16. If I was that rich I would have paid 1,500,000. If you think about guitar rock history thats the only guitar that comes to mind... Everyone else has models they play, that was the one. The only guitar that will go for more is willy nelson's Thats a guitar!!!!
  17. ding ding ding ding we have a winner! I hate people that screw around with pictures, if I bought that piece and it was not that good lookin I would file a nast complaint. There are some good wood dealers and then there are some bad ones...
  18. I just bought some really pieces I will be ebaying them. I will post a pic later... Did you notice the blue on the guys jeans in the background How they are bright blue even in the shawdow?
  19. I'd go in with someone on this piece? Rip three inches off for a set neck, then make about 8 tops... we could make it back on ebay for sure...
  20. Yea I noticed once my site was mentioned as a supplier on project guitar main page the hits trippled to my own site. This is a great start, Empowerment is awesome! Why pay 2000 for a custom guitar, when you can actually learn something? by building your own? Heck I love building guitars, but my dream guitar is an old white LP custom..

Sorry, I am on the south side. I am selling this in a bunch of local ads and at my local wood shop. This machine works great and the 220 runs so so so nice Other sites have this listed for 700, I have this listed for that amount in other sites and auctions, email me for more info
  22. emailed him, someone with a bogus account should place a bid for 700,000 just so he has to pay the listing fee...
  23. admire ability, but not that cool.... gotta play with that feeling... Freddie king has that feeling, Albert King has that feeling, I am blues guy so sorry. You know when you are at that point in the music when you almost feel high? thats what I like.
  24. hey sonicparke welcome! Thanks for the review. jehle, I am talking about the large parallel drum sanders, not the drill press attachment types. These machines are sooooo expensive. I have seen some custom made plans on mimf, but I don't have the time to make a machine. I am almost at a production phase and scared that this sander will not be good enough.
  25. Hey builders, which drum sander do you own? what is the best value for the cash? I am thinking that the grizzly 16 is a good one to start with...
