  1. that's right!! neck angle, that's how i fixed the action on strat copy so now it plays pretty well.
  2. waaah!? where's the middle pickup and pyramid inlays!?!?! blasphemy!, very nice paintjob btw.
  3. perhaps recess the bridge? or is it to the point of buzzing already, and where is it buzzing, the first few frets? if so, you could shim the nut.

  5. i dunno, maybe add some flare to your playing, little licks here and there to fill up the space and make it more interesting, or more emotion and feeling in the notes.
  6. if you mean where the middle of the V is behind the tremelo? it's not centered, no, the nut is 1 11/16, scale is 25.5", alexi's new guitars(from esp), also have a belly cut, like on most superstrats, and also the cutaway to provide better access to upper frets, i don't have an RRV, my friend does, so, if anyone else has an RRV they can help you better than i, but i was planning on making an rrv, so i made these observations.
  7. hah, that's why i create the band with me as the lead guitar and singer, don't have to deal with show offs or singers complaining about the music, just myself =o
  8. the size of the heel might be different on the ibanez necks than on the strat necks, but i'm not 100% sure. wait for someone with experience to answer before doing anything.
  9. i also prefer longer scale, i play 25 1/2" and 24 3/4 just doesn't seem right to me.
  10. from standard, drop your low E string to a low D, do this by fretting the low E string on the 7th fret, and make it sound the same as your open A string, once they sound the same, your tuning is DADGBE. now, if you know how to tune your guitar in standard tuning, by fretting the 5th fret on the low, now D, string, then making your open A string sound the same as that, and continue like that, until you get to your B string, in which case make your B string sound the same as your G string( should be an F by the time you're there ) fretted at the 4th fret, etc...then your tuning should be DGCFAD, now simply fret your low D string at the 7th fret, and tune it down until it sounds like your open G string, now you're in drop C, CGCFAD, and you can continue the same formula to tune this like a standard tuning, to get to standard C, which would be CFBbEbGC...very confusing i'm sure.
  11. I thought kahler bridges were out of production, or are their kahlers ancient.
  12. retainer bars are used to keep the strings below the nut, so if the angle on your strings behind the nut is enough to keep them below it, you don't need one, else you should put one on, otherwise when you lock the nut the strings will sharp.
  13. X2N is a GREAT pickup!!! i love mine, infact i have the same color too...my pickguard is white, my other pups are white, and i bought it as black so it would stand out, and it does...over everyone else's crappy pickups! ha..ha..ha...
  14. photobucket seems to be borked, what's a similar photohost that will allow hotlinking.
  15. Hello, let me introduce myself, my name is Jesse, and i've been visiting these forums for a while now, and I want to say this place is excellent, and the people here are very informative and great people to deal with it seems. I've begun my first project, still in the planning stages, but I did about 30 min of work in photoshop to decide things, basically it's an RRV, but the long horn is just as long as the short horn(!?). There will be no headstock, and it will use the floyd rose speedloader bridge and nut. After quite a while ago seeing the steinberger guitars with their lack of headstock, and seeing one of my favorite guitarists Paul Masvidal playing one, I started to hate the headstock, so I thought, why not! specs(thus far) Bolt on 24 frets, will buy the neck as i'm not confident enough to make my own for this first project... 25 1/2" scale V shape One pickup, probably DiMarzio, unless my friend gets his EMG 81 soon and I like the sound of it better than my X2N One volume i'll post a concept picture as soon as my photobucket starts working...i'll be using my friend's Jackson RR3 for measurements of the body, i'm real excited to get started.
  16. sounds like you're talking about minor pentatonic scale and C major scale.
  17. when something is plugged into the input of the pedal, it is active, when you're not using it, unplug the input from the pedal.
  18. if you don't know how to tune your instrument to alternate tunings you need to take a step back and realize it's not rocket science, you tune your guitar to EADGBE right?, which is standard tuning...so if you have a chromatic tuner, take the low E string, and tune it down to a B, then take the A string down to a F#...and so on.
  19. and why are these rhoads plans wrong?
  20. seymour duncan or dimarzio i'd say, for something that ranges from metal to blues, EMGs wouldn't be the way to go, get a good passive.
  21. omg NOOOO!!!!, ok now that i did that... Chuck Schuldiner was awesome, I love his work. His guitar is a BC Rich Custom Shop "Stealth" model, you can find it on their website -> http://www.bcrich.com/bich/index.html you could probably print out one of those pics, then using the 25 1/2" scale as a starting point, find out the dimensions of the body.
  22. Peavey Raptor EXP Plus Epiphone Strat
  23. I've learned and played on 1 5/8", but then I played a Jackson RR3 with a 1 11/16" nut, and i like it so much better, the extra spacing seems to leave so much more room for bends with a reduced chance of tapping that "other" string with your fingernail or something.
