  2. IM racking in the dough right now im gonna buy most of my parts off of ebay so I can save a little money though.
  3. I just talked to bigd about it so im getting a LPS quilted maple body from him once I get the template for him
  4. Well I just nailed a land scaping job that pays 10 an hour (no tax) and they said theres about 6 weeks worth of work, working 12+ a week. So I'm switching some od the things around, 2 pearly gates to replace the cheap pickups, but I'm still gonna get a Bigsby. Chad
  5. Ok well after spending time since last may trying to fix broken old crappy guitars I have decided to make one using new parts. I have been looking on ebay and decided I'm gonna go for a nice jazzy/ blues guitar. This is going to be my first project that I plan to actually complete. For the body I am going to buya LPS style body template and have Bigd make me a Quilted maple (hopefully carved top) Stain it a aqua, and clear coat it. I have changed my mind about pickups and decided to get a Pearly gates at the bridge and a SH-6 Distortion at the neck For the tail peice im going to buy a Bigsby B7 Short Tail then some type of Bigsby bridge. For the fretboard I'm planning to buy one of the custom inlay rosewood necks similar to these ones you see on ebay neck And of course I'll add all of the other odds and ends, I'm thinking of selling my kahler seeing as its to confusing for me and I don't really like it. . If you have any suggestions on parts for me I would greatly appreciate it. . But anyways If you would like to make a donation to me you can . just tallied it up if all goes well it well be about 574.9 to make it
  6. The bridge its self sits inside of a frame basically and is held in place by 2 screws with a bearing around them so Im assuming it is not a floyd rose one. but I am playing 9's at the moment so the only ting I can possibly think of is using 8's. I dont have a working Digi cam at the moment, via a 3yr. old playing catch . So I'll try to borrow one and take some pics
  7. Now that I have finally figured out what kind of bridge (kahler) which I recently found out on ebay can go for quite a bit of dough BUt now I knowI have that I have quite a few parts missing. 1) 6 fine tuning screw 2) Bar 3) Locking nut 4) truss rod cover ( salvaged one off of a friends old neck) Now The springs or what ever you want to call them in my brdieg right now seem to tune to drop d and thats it, if I tune to standard the bridge just keeps moving at a higher angle and I can no longer hold a tune. now I have found this on ebayTrem setter and I was wondering how I would go about using it, whether I should buy this or try something else. Thanks Chad
  8. I gave little info because the amp is quite embarassing. BUt it is a Suier 15 watt, a 3 prong, combo, and if I unplugg the guitar I still get fuzz, I have already sheilded the guitar. any way to fix this. I have tryed multiple different speakers to no avail, I am planning on a new amp soon but I just was just wondering if there was somethign I could do to this amp until then.
  9. every speaker I hook up to my amp and every guitar once I try to use the Treb, Bass, and midi adjustments it wil give me a nasty fuzz, is this jsut normal if not how can you fix it?
  10. alright well then I guess I'll pass I dont need another beginner guitar (damnit)
  11. Despite what you may believe, the laws of sound may surprise you. In order for a 20 watt amp to be twice as loud you need 10 time that many watts so a 200 watt amp is only twice as loud as a 20watt. that was my peice of knowledge for the day
  12. I've always wanted to stand out So I decided that if im gonna play guitar I might as well do that. So here I am with one finished project, and one hopefully on the way, I just like to have cool looking stuff, and learn about everythign while Im doing it.
  13. Yeah I mean I painted my skate board EVH styleand since then I have just been waiting for a cheaper Kramer with Bananna neck and this is the first one I have seen that I could quite possibly convince my dad to buy me
  14. So I was searching on ebay and in Kramer and found this beauty. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...eName=WDVWtyped . This thing immediately caught my attention and I am wondering if anyone had used this guitar before. I'm hoping that I can convince my dad to buy me the guitar now, and then i'll pay him
  15. I can answer your first question, your best bet is to sand the body till its smooth then spray paint multiple light coats of primer. Then you do your first base coat but not a heavy spray do this until you gety our desired color, if you get a bubble or the paint starts to run sand it down and paint it again. Then you are ready for clear coat which gives it a nice shine and it protects the paint. I'm still looking for a paint that wont chip easily.
  16. Alright in september I started working on this guitar, it started out being a fugly beige color, the Floyd rose was out of wack, the action was about 2 inches off of the fretboard, and only one pickup worked. Well after about about a Month I finished fixing it but I am looking to do more. But I need a little bit of help 1)I need to know a good set of inline 6 tuning pegs to replace my Mcgyvered ones. 2)Right now I have machine screws in the floyd rose and need to know what the name of the parts are. 3)As for pickups I am looking to buy a Pearly gate for the bridge and then 2 little 59'ers for the Neck and middle pick up. If I buy these should I have them installed or figure it out myself? 4) If I install the Pickups will any body work need to be done like will i need anymore knobs. 5) FInally what type of paint will not chip once I am start playing, as you can see in the pic it has some pretty noticable scratches on it. full guitar body
