2. well,i have to SLIGHTLY disagree with you just a tiny bit. i feel as if blues is more about a feeling than it is about perfect tecqnique, although stevie ray was great at both. but since you phrased it like you did,i can only assume you have not heard a very wide range of metal.this is not meant as a slam, but just recently i have been introduced to the NEW metal scene(as opposed to the 80s thrash i was used to,such as exodus, slayer, etc.) what i am getting at is that i find metal to be one of the genres most **** about getting the guitar playing perfect...i don't mean Korn either(obviously),or napalm death or any of that ilk.i mean like "at the gates","lamb of god",and a whole slew of others who REALLY impressed me today with the way they have moved metal forward. i went for years thinking that metal was dying out, because i could never find any good new metal bands to listen to. but now i have that sattellite radio thing(sirius) and i tell you one thing...those bands that i heard today are VERY serious about perfect tecnique. and i will tell you another thing....those bands i heard today are also much better than what was the best in my day. especially "lamb of god" that music is the advanced form of what i thought was advanced music when i was in the eightees
3. If my Guit does not sell on ebay I am going to have a mahogany 59 paul type neck with ebony fretboard and NO inlays put on it... so it kinof like I do NOT want it to sell ??? ← heck...if you have the funds for it,that is EXACTLY what i would do if i were you. i think that would make it a fine guitar that you could enjoy for the rest of your life
4. i don't know if you are talking about the one i bought.i got the one that costs about $350 i think. it is very decent.the top is veneer and the body is multiple piece mahogany.but if that doesn't bother you then go for it. i have not put mine together yet though
5.
out of that list mesa has got my vote. But my dream amp is definitly a bogner. Man tears come into my eyes every time I hear one of those see what I mean
look at the new THD heads at musicians friend.you can replace the tubes with anything you want, and they are supposed to be very good.at $1200 and up.they are still cheaper by far than the bogner.and they are supposed to have that "boutique amp" sound
6. that song is actually one of my least favorites on "god hates us all"
7. well..the neck and the fit of the neck MAKE the guitar. so i bet if you are that close you may be able to drop your body off and let him take the measurements needed for a great fit..and then your guitar WOULD play like a dream
8. huh? all the solder joints i have ever made cool enough to be solid in about 1 to 2 seconds...without blowing a bunch of dust and crap out of your cavities and up into your face by the way...it's "solder" how do you buy the correct stuff if you can't spell it?
9. "bloodline" is a good song...but that video sounds like it was recorded throgh a toilet paper tube. the sound is much better on the cd.

Hey!

she probably wants a man....
11. i know you already know everything but i will tell you anyway. computer fans are supposed to be quiet. i can barely hear mine.i think your computer needs a higher quality fan.
12. that is VERY correct.i was about to throw down...but i will settle for just saying "be more descriptive in the future" and i will edit the title myself
13. i have a blues jr.very nice little bluesy amp... considering selling it now though, since drak hooked me up right with a GREAT blues amp
14. i like the blue voodoo better.they will both get you what you want..but the voodoo is a more articulate amp
15. here you go.i will take pity on you this time i guess.in the future use the search feature.usually the older topics have the better info anyway.more experienced guys with answers. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=3805 http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=1503 just take notice that these 2 relic threads are geared towards making the guitar actually look "played in" ,not just beat to hell.all of the "drag it behind your car" answers you would get these days really would get you nothing but an ugly, broken guitar. a relic looks good if done right...a beat to hell guitar LOOKS like a beat to hell p.o.s nuff said?
16. do a search on the word "relic"

Hey!

you go,girl! and like i heard once on "night court" "i try to keep an open mind, but not so open that it falls out onto the sidewalk"

Hey!

actually i assumed that if you were female you would be sexy enough, that coupled with your "doctorate" you would have been snatched up by a man already.
19. westhemann

Hey!

why yes "mrs." doctor ,of course...first thing i thought of.i actually did laugh out loud at my screen when i first saw it yesterday what gets me the most is the irony on two levels..first..that you actually mistook her as a guy(the opposite of what i did with you) and second...that you referred to her as a "him" even though you said you were going to consider techs as female in your mind,so it would seem as if you would have at least taken a gender neutral stance in this case... edit i just noticed that there is ANOTHER level of irony....the fact that she reffered to the forum at large as "you guys",which rendered my whole"logical assumptions of gender through word choice" crap i spewed in that other thread irrelevant i am drowning in irony and in my own ignorant assumptions based on an obviously flawed premise
20. a tb12 goes for $69.30 brand spanking new. http://guitarpartsdepot.com/Merchant2/merc...egory_Code=SDSS just thought you should know so you can adjust your price
21. best tip i can give anyone is to let the iron reheat between solder joints. i do one at a time and prepare the next joint while the iron is heating again. for those who don't know...an iron of course bleeds off heat on a joint
22. alot of marshall's have a fan in them.including the mode 4 i believe. so does your computer.it keeps the circuits cooler
23. that is a fine opinion.i loved the usa bc rich's i played...but there you go. i do like my gibsons better.i really was speaking to the "they suck because they are pointy and sound bad" crowd. all well built guitars sound like the woods they were made from and the electronics used...if you like a les paul's sound, you would like the bc rich's sound that i linked to. you might not like the way it feels or hangs..but that is all personal opinion Devon,i am sorry if i sounded like i was ranting against guitar builders...but it takes an awful large leap of logic to assume that I,a guy who builds, would be anti-building,don't you think? i think it was a reading comprehension problem on your part...because i see no one else who misunderstood what i said. and who would know better than me the differences in quality between these different price groups?i tried for years to find cheap prices with great quality, only to find it does not exist.if it is cheap, there is a reason for it. pay $300,expect a $300 guitar. everyone who has built a guitar knows you cannot build a quality guitar at your own home for that money.add in labor prices and company overhead and you will see that a guitar that costs you $300 actually only cost the company that built it $150 or less. so how great do you think that guitar is really going to be?
24. i think whatsisname here makes those...bigdguitars i guess he would know
