  1. ok well, basically from my limited understanding you'll need sanding sealer first to seal the body, then a primer coat (usually white), then your actual colour, then the clear afterwards and after a coat of anything you want to do a little sanding with very fine wetsanding paper to get it flat again, and then you may want to put on more coats i believe the clear usually has between 3 and 10ish coats sometimes plenty more and the colour paint you just need a few coats until you get a solid enough colour out of it, oh and the sanding sealer, maybe 2 or so? just til you know it's thoroughly sealed i'm probably wrong, someone correct me oh, and just let me know any words you didn't understand, i'll try and explain them
  2. thanks, ya i'll be able to figure it out when i get around to doing some

  7. true in a way the two are quite alike though......we are drawn in by a guitars looks, then we find out about it's playability right?

  9. ya obviously..thx soz, i thought it would be cool to have a reference thread around (i trust PGers advice more you know) so ..ya guess i'll look elsewhere then lock er up mods
  10. it's a thread about making a crybaby not modding one i don't like hijacking threads
  11. i'm interested in making my crybaby true bypass and maybe messing with the sweep range or anything to make it sound better hopefully someone else might find this useful too so ya, would be great if you could post some links, tuts or ideas or whatever thx

  17. do you know of any? types of paint i mean (so i can avoid them for this and future projects) thx folks
  18. ya it's good to think of the backing defining the mode not you like if you play Eminor over a Gmajor backing your not playing Eminor anymore if the backing changes you change even if you don't literally change shapes and remember modal tonality, there's certain notes in each mode which make the mode, the characteristic notes that sound distinctly ..lydian together or whatever mode your using they're the other defining force in mode choice i think wylde sounds far more knowledgable on this than me though
  19. hey i see it now! very nice man, did you use the borax swirl tut? i 'll be swirling soon too so thx for the inspiration
  20. les claypool just rocks out sooo well
  21. w000t lol i had to edit my post before cos of little forum grammatical ideas, does that reduce instantaneouseinsteinability?
  22. yeah your right about the in progress stuff, but they don't really need to be pinned, so it wouldn't matter too much. if an in progress thing finishes up and is kinda tutorial like, a tut version that's cleaned up could be put on the main site, and the forum would still be free of overpinning
  23. this is one of the best and least conflicting posts i've read yet don't know about you guys but when i want a tut i always go to the main site first thats what the tut section's for on other forums it's annoying in the same way as people hate sigs when you open a forum section to see 9 or 10 pinned tutorials at the top. it seems cluttered and your not always sure where to go to get the info your after, it'd suck to see PG forum like that
