    thats what i meant by lack of mass keegan having i've still to try my bamboo laminate reinforcement rods!

    I think, but don't quote me on this, the rods make up for lack of mass in a neck the thinner you want it the more flexible it becomes so you add the rods to stiffen it up the trussrod is an adjustment for any bow in the neck. Lol I kinda made that up on the spot can you tell?

    You could buy a new one and replace the neck plate and sell the original to subsidise the cost!

    I think what wes is trying to say what makes that particular guitar is special is the neck. Would you buy a ferrari sans engine and replace it with a 4 cylinder fiat engine just because the body was cheap? I bet more people would have a stab at sticking a ferrari engine in a cruddy fiat! Is the Ed Roman thing a joke? if it is...

    Weight doesn't mean sustain all on its own there are other factors! Its definately the enemy though not being able to play the guitar because it hurts I would class as a serious design flaw.

    Tectona grandis is Tectona grandis . . . there is no difference between the trees in any SE Asia country - as I said I can't fathom it out! Thats no what I meant I meant perhaps the importers import the higher quality harder heavier timber as it meets the requirments of the market.

    Possibly because the market for teak is for furniture so the importers ship in the heavy/harder end of the spectrum?

    I once got unmatching 3+3 side gotoh tuners packed by allparts. I feel your pain!

    and another thing, I think it would still look pretty good as a paint job if not better (sometimes using all wood is NOT the way to go). Or another possibility would be a bit of veneering just like you were veneering a chess board rather than all the inlaying you had planned.

    Very wise Although people have been doing intricate work with wood long before CNC machines Rough it with the router and tidy it with charp chisels And I think you could possible rotate it 90 degrees the curve of the knight could be made to follow the curve of the guitar...

    you're such a rock snob! I quite like heavy metal, lead in particular.

    Where is the 'actual rock' option? I'm into granite and felsite in a big way. I can cope with a bit of limestone occasionally but I think chalk sold out a long time ago. I also take alot of time to 'slate' slate its just to flakey yet it gets all the top jobs.
