  3. your probably going to think im the hugest idiot youve ever seen, but what does pre-custom mean?
  4. say you wanted to build a guitar from scratch and you wanted a veneer on top, could you put the veneer directly on the wood THEN cut the body out? i just think it would be a lot easier than cutting the venner to the shape of the thick wood, im pretty sure this wouldnt work, because i havent heard of people doing it, and its a good idea i thin and if people arent doing it that probably means it wouldnt work, but i dont know, if anyone could give any suggestions or answers that would be great, BTW im not building a guitar anytime soon, im just wondering if it would work
  5. read the rules where are they, i cant find them, im probably staring right at them, but i dont see them do u have a link?
  6. the ibanez guitar, for the august one, it says ibanez on the headstock, does that mean he repainted the ibanez or does it mean he "illegally" put the ibanez logo on the headstock, if he repainted it, is this allowed in the comp?
  7. nevermind, i looked at the pickup manufacturer site, and it told me, i dont have the pickups yet cuz i ordered them and they havent gotten here, they are the zakk wylde set, and i looked at emginc.com and its a lot easier than i thought, thanks though

  9. i need to switch pickups in my silvertone sg how do i do it?
  10. for some reason that last one reminds me of a modernized les paul, i love it, the carrie is awesome on it also
  11. im at stew-mac and there is a buffing wheel and a polishing pad, whats the difference, im assuming that the polishing pad is for keeping finishes shiny, and the buffing wheel is for making them shiny, i asked someone who is experienced with buffing wheels but not with guitar buffing or polishing, he said he believes its the same thing, but hes not quite sure, can anyone help me, im hoping i can just use the buffing wheel and not have to buy the polishing compounds, is that possible?
  12. im not a vocabulary man, vut i think thats the right way to say thus, im not positive, but when u said it, i didnt notice an error, so most likely you said it correctly
  13. theres some stuff on the main site about it you dont have to be an ass about it, you were stupid when you were a teenager were you not? im a teenager, and im pretty stupid, but usually people grow out of being a teenager. So that doesnt mean you all are screwed because the people who haven't been around as long as you arent as smart as you. No offense monkey, most kids are less smart than most adults, its the way it is and always will be, its not like we're gonna be just like we are now when we get to be an adult, but hey, we're here to have fun, so lets just not be mean to people like that ok?
  14. holy schnikey's dude, thats so awesome, the shape of the body isnt my taste, but you did great on it! can't wait to see the progress pictures!
  15. very nice man, this is the first ive seen of this thread, the guitar looks awesome man, keep it up.
  16. death metal?! no! sorry but no, i hate death metal, i'm doing what i like best, i love you guys' words of encouragement, well, i actually kind of like the cross better than the burst or the ray. the burst kinda too much of a vintage finish, which is cool, i like looking at vintage stuff, and i like vintage stuff on les pauls. But an SG is more of a modern guitar, although it was created half a century ago, it is still a modern looking guitar, and the burst would look out of place with the SG and the style of music that my band plays. the ray was kind of gay looking, it's like it was in between modern and vintage, like 80's, which im not into at all. so i went for a more modern look, with the cross, i guess you could call it "punk" or whatever you want to call it, but it's what i like best. I had actually been tossing around putting a symbol or logo of some sort in black in the burst idea, but i wasnt sure, and when i started to do the ray, i said, "f' it, im gonna do a cross." and no matter what anybody else says, im still going to like it, and think i did a good job, becasue in my eyes i did, you all might think differently than i do, but my opinion is my opinion, and your opinion is your opinion, and to your opinion, i say to each his/her own
