  1. Just a quick note...we have decided to extend the Tonepros sale through the end of May, so drop by! If you need a Tonepros item that is not on the site, we will be happy to bring it in for you. http://www.specialtyguitars.com
  2. Sperzel Sound Lock Tuners are available at Specialty Guitars
  3. IMHO it is worth considering Sperzel. They are a very precise design, having one hidden stabilizer pin, and are the originals that Schaller later copied. They are American made by a small company with fantastic customer service. And for these reasons can be more readily had than Schallers.
  4. And you'd better cooperate with us ----------- Jimbo ← LOL
  5. I'm kind of helping to hijack my own thread, but you guys are right, David's guitars are really sharp.
  6. If you contact me, I would be glad to help you out with them. info@specialtyguitars.com
  7. We have all of out TonePros locking hardware on sale for 20% off until the end of April. Drop by, and check us out. Specialty Guitars
  8. Without being able to see it, the best I can do at this point is to suggest double checking your wiring...something's not right.
  9. We now accept Paypal as well as credit cards. Drop by and check us out! Specialty Guitars
  10. Certainly he must have meant a JB in the bridge and a 59 in the neck. SD pickup covers are available, and not too difficult to install. The covers do not need to be potted, but it is best to to apply 1 layer of electrical tape to the tops of the bobbins where the cover comes in contact with them. This will eliminate any feedback causing vibration.
  11. Sorry, I didn't look at the date. I just noticed that a lot had been written, but that your question had not really been answered. It does seem that this board can be a slow mover. It is easy to post on a thread that is a yr or more old. Again, my apologies
  12. The lower the value of the pot, and/or the higher the value of the capacitor, the more treble that will be rolled of, or the "darker" the sound. And yes, the tone control still has an effect even when it is turned to "10". The higher the pot value, and/or the lower the cap value, the less of this effect there will be.
  13. You can also have a look here. http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/suppo...chematics.shtml That is where this one came from... http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/suppo...ol_1tone_5w.htm
  14. I agree with crafty. I installed quite a few EMG's back in the 80's when many guys wanted THAT tone. I never cared for them as they sound "fake" to me. Very hard to beat a Seymour Duncan JB for your application. OF course there are other Duncans that are hotter if that is what you are after.
  15. Sounds like you are basically talking about disconnecting your tone control. You can sure try it and see what it sounds like as many players have done that from the 1980's on. It may be too bright, but then it depends on the tone you are wanting. Going to a 1 meg Vol pot might be too bright as well. BTW, how are the Pearly Gates working out?
  16. Yes it can be done quite easily. But with an American made or style 3 way. Maybe not onthe Asian switches. If you have not already received help, contact me and I will be glad to help you with it.
  17. If the wiring is correct, I would suspect a dead pickup. Get an inexpensive multi-meter from Radio Shack or where ever, and check the resistance of the pickup. But check all wiring and solder joints as well.
