  2. I love the iceman model, my main guitar is one, that I made a few years ago, black with acrilic with real mop cracks inside in some details (pickguard and truss rod cover). In begin of this year I finish a Paul Gilbert Fireman copy for a customer, that make me think abou build another one for myself, but about one year or more that I have no time to build for myself. Realy nice work, starts me thinking again
  3. Thanks IPA, but I gues that a case thread not gonna happen, my friend doesn´t have the habit of registering the work steps. If he let me take pictures I´ll do next time!
  4. Tiago, Osorio is not my city, is my last name! - Valeu e abraçao! Jaxcat - I used nitro sealer first, something about 5 coats. After I use a nitro gold paint with bronze an copper dust mixed with the paint 3 coats. at this point the relic begins in the gold paint with a steel wool to sand the paint in the worn parts, the steel of worn and the copper of paint gives a nice aged finish. After all I use a bi conponent varnish, 5 coats , that after totaly dried was relic too.

  7. Wez - don´t you think in gretsh pickups? They looks like Birch and sounds great too. Can´t remember where I have read, but gretsh pickups are wound with extra thing wire too, WG46 or 44.
  8. hehehe I post this picture in my orkut and a friend said the same thing about it!! No i´m not using water decals, but vinil decals poter cuted. The varnish cover it completly, and, when I sand before buffing it keeps in level totaly incorporated into the varnish with no bevel marks. There are many types of Cedar here in Brazil, it´s a native specie. Comparing with mahogany ( classical build wood ) we have: Pink Cedar ( Cedro Rosa ) - Ligther than mahogany - More darker sounds with bass tones increased; Amazon Cedar ( Cedro Amazonense ) Havier than mahogany - with more mid bass tones; Arana Cedar ( Cedro Arana ) - Havier than mahogany - with more mid tones; Pampa Cedar ( Cedro Gaúcho ) - Ligther than mahogany - with same mids but more hi tones ( much mor brighter )

  11. My intention was build a guitar that the costumer wants. If he want´s that way what could I do? The best work as possible don´t you agree? I made my excuses to everybody, even my guitar wins I ask the moderation that don´t put it on the site. Think that was a bad idea post one guitar in the contest. So the damage is done and the kill begins ( poetic ha? :D )

  13. oh that F...ing pencil mark! a big mistake, this lesson I´ve learned the hard way. when I see this imediatly say to the costumer, my idea was disassembly the neck, but he said that don´t care about it, so keep this way, but I din´t forgot me. the costumer love this gutiar, feedback was the best that I expect! he have two gibsons and this guitar, in his words, is the best guitar that he have. but I know that into the pocket have a disgraces pencil mark hehehe
  14. Marfim it´s comom used to substitute maple here in Brasil, sounds equal. The glue line don´t appear the neck pocket is very tight. Is this that you is talking?

  20. Top and body gluing (note that I used the same clamp used to glue top sides) Inlaying - I use dentist drills to open this cavities. Neck with some work, trus rod and outline shape, body arched top with inlays cavities
