  1. hi guys some pics of latest build and other alloy stuff (hope u like) http://community.webshots.com/user/dazza294
  2. speakin of a roswell what would u do 4 tuners if u wanted to build on oh yeah are they made out of alloy or just painted wood
  3. mat the v has been around 4 years mate so whose spinnin who any way there all the same basic shape i always loved Vs n regretted selling my gibson mate u do what turns you on if other people like good if they dont STIFF your building it for yourself anyway keep up the good work ive dug most of youre stuff so far
  4. i agree with all of the above 4 what ever you use it will fill the threads in fine tuners and locking screws the only way to make all this work is clean of paint or powder coating to free up threads so your finished item may look funny with differnt color threads
  5. hey goth just wanted to say way to go man after reading the threads that go with this neck story to be honest it couldnt have worked out better for sure u dropped some cash ( and i know that hurts ) but think of the plus side it forced u to to learn somthing from this whole sordid affair and when youve finished it its all youre doing so what if u make a mistake here and there its a learning curve so i say go for it keep up the good work ( u never know maybe u could sell one of youre necks to that special person who ripped you)
  6. this is my second alloy tele project a good freind of mine asked me if i could build his son an alloy tele the same as mine so i thought id try it with tools most of u guys woud have to see if it could be done i started out with a piece of 25mm alloy plate and then after marking it out i routed the internal part of the plate i left a bit around the neck pocket ( for support of the neck) after that i routed the outside shape i also radiused the external edges more than my own tele then i welded a piece of 6mm plate into the top and there u go 1 alloy tele body apart from welding most of u guys could manage it with tools u all ready have maybe u could get a local welder to weld the top plate in U MUST WEAR SAFTY GEAR WHEN USING POWER TOOLS ON ALLOY AND CLAMP EVERYTHING DOWN GOOD check out pics http://community.webshots.com/user/dazza294
  7. to be honest im happy with this guitar at the moment and i really dont want to mess wih it it sounds awesome and im happy with the neck thats on it as for finish it will be painted in a transperant black( so u can see the polished alloy thru it ) il send the body away for that within the next 2 weeks ive already started on my next project an alloy thin line tele thanx 4 the input guys
  8. very nice work perry makes me happy we share the same country i dont need the warheads in that pointed at me ( but then they could be if i enter the alloy tele in gotm) so maybe i wont besides i think ive got along way to go yet
  9. well i got my lefty floyd rose fitted and ive done a few more bits n peices ive played it a fair bit and im still very happy with the out come so the last thing to do is strip it down and send it of to be coated might send it of next week photos have been updated so for those of you intersted take look
  10. yeah neck was a good idea at the time ive since orderd lefty strat neck that i will shape headstock into tele style the body is being coated in a black tint after full polish so the alloy will still shine thru the black ive seen this done on some hot rods and dragrace cars its a very efective finish at the moment im just happy to be able to play it so il play it for a week or so save up some more cash then finish it
  11. yeahhhhhhhhhh it lives played alloy tele tonight i aint eva gonna play a plank again this is the sweetest souding guitar i have ever played i now understand what a lot of guys say once you play a custom guitar ul neva play a factory built one the best part was my mate was ova with his 64 strat i couldnt keep him of my tele i ended up playin his strat coz he wouldnt put the tele down all i gotta do now is some finishing touches to her and shes done I THINK ILL NAME HER STAMPY big thanks guys for all ur ideas and info thanx
  12. http://community.webshots.com/user/dazza294 couple more pics its finally starting to come together cant wait to play it but still waiting on more parts to come
  13. to be honest matt i was attempting to do that but hit the wrong button and bingo new post added
  14. any one know if u could cut a tele style headstock out of a strat headstock ive had a bit of a look at it i think its possible the only thing im not sure on is tuner spacings my reson for wanting to do this its easier to get lefty strat neck than lefty tele thanks
