  1. Yea, tuning machines are really close together a bit, but it's just a matter of taste, as long as they work well. Looks nice, really a maple miracle.
  2. P-90's are among the noisiest things in the world due to its enormous coil. Dipping may reduce some of the hum, but won't take it all away. But I'm not sure if they already dipped, if that's a PRS... I've heard that early Gibson-made ones were not dipped only.
  3. In most of the usual string gauges the central strings pull the more, while the outers do the less on the neck.
  4. Why three wires from a single coil?
  5. I can't recall... did you already post pictures of that SG? I'd like to see da beast if possible. That shape is... um... so damn sexy for me.
  6. "please don't suggest any others" SG forever... LOL!
  7. Thanks for the advices. I made a steel one and its sound was somehow weak but quite tinkling though, the top doesn't resonate too good, maybe the vibration couldn't transmit well between the steel and the rosewood bridge. Also I didn't hear any noticable changes in sustain. I'll try out the brass and the silver ones too, I'm getting curious. Stag-horn sounds awesome!
  8. How would a steel saddle sound on a steel string acoustic? :o
  9. Piezo - especially the soundboard one - sounds really, really bad, unless it's an expensive, professional system. An under the saddle mounted one might be good enough though, but a well placed microphone (or better a pair of them) will do the job.
  10. Now that looks quite good, hope it's not that they just hide the low quality materials with this attractive finish.
  11. LOL! The best finish for that guitar is an XL condom.
  12. Sorry to say but they are kitschy.
  13. How are those lipstick pick-ups built up? Is there a magnet bar in the center and the coil wound around it, or is that more complicated? I love their sound, and just curious. :o
  14. Then you know what you want already. Then what it was? Quiz show?
  15. Well. Um... reamer... you may take a look at my avatar...
  16. Keep the Johnson, man. Real wood resonates always better than any kinda plywood. Not to mention you wrote it's in good condition.

    1. Take your guitar. 2. Plug it in... 3. Turn the amp on, and all controls up to the maximum... 4. Hit the amp with your guitar. Don't make a fuss; just hit the bastard! Hit the crap out of them! Go go go go go! Man, that's something, huh?! Hear that noise?! Ooooh baby I like it cry lil chicken cry aaaarrgh... Hope you'll enjoy.
  18. Nice looking axe that is! Could you put up some mp3's you played with this beaut? I'm just curious of the sound.
  19. Thanks Woodfixer! Good info on that wood.
  20. Yea, many cheaper guitarparts made of this Nato wood. But I've never seen pictures of it as it was unfinished yet. Also I don't know is it something that sounds not too good or why don't hi-quality manufacturers use it? I'm just curious. :o
  21. Unfortunately I don't have any scanner available right now, but it is a semi-hollowbody, you can call it thinline, with a solid timber in the middle, so it could carry a tune-o-matic kinda bridge. Must add, that it isn't carved like an original ES 335, actually it's totally flat from each side.
  22. Yep, I'm gonna replace everything for this new scale. This guit was actually a short scale bass with a trapeze tailpiece, and the (totally useless) bridge wasn't even screwed onto the body... But this body's good and the pick-ups are okay too.
