  1. thanks for your comments! @primal i am going to use an ash body. here is a photograph of the wood i'm gonna recieve on thursday: http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/1576/37mu.jpg the lower horn just looks bigger because of my bad photographing skills, i think. in real, it looks very aesthetic @verhoevenc like niteflySA said, the headstock will get 4+2 tuners. so there will be no problems.
  2. hi folks, I am planning to build a guitar for almost a year now, spending all the time reading books about it and visiting websites (project guitar ) but until now, I just was too scared to do the first step and buy the materials (I think you all know that feeling, the fear of spending too much money on building a instrument that won't even be playable... maybe ) Today I recieved my neck (yes I admit, I'm a loser which buys the neck for his first guitar ) and made a drawing of the guitar body and headstock. Although I did it free-hand, I think it came out very well - i like it a lot. It looks a bit(?) like a EBMM Petrucci, right. but actually it was supposed to look like my yamaha electric bass but I like this petrucci shaping a lot, so I putted it into the drawing. but in the end, it wont be a that large chamfer (actually I don't even know whether I can find a that large router bit). http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/3310/gitbody7pj.jpg http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/1637/githead7nj.jpg http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7799/gitfull9jn.jpg the guitar is going to get ebmm-style 4/2-locking tuners by schaller. further, I will use a EARVANA nut and as you can see on the pictures, a schaller 3d6 hardtail. pickups will be a seymour duncan STR-3 tele singlecoil on the neck and a SH-6 humbucker on the bridge. electrics will be very simple, 3-way switch, tone, volume. I'm just waiting to get the wood for the body, before i begin cutting out the routing templates. that'll be fun
  3. I'd say that you should do a very dark see-thru green. just like on jaguar automobiles. looks gorgeous!!! a dark purple looks kinda nice, too.
  4. shaping is really great, but dont like the new color. old finish was much better!
  5. I like that yellow body shape, but the headstock does not fit very well IMHO. looks good but the red triangle-shaped headstock would look much better i think. more agreesive.
  6. oh yeah, this one looks like my dining table, whatever. great work, though I would prefer some colored finish. second output jack looks weird somehow, but ok, who cares... cant wait to see it completed
  7. woah, sexiest wolfgang I have ever seen! makes me wanna go into a musicstore and buy me one - great work man! *drool*
  8. man, that is not looking like the vampyre model at all - it is a replica of the warwick BUSSARD model.
  9. sehr gute arbeit, sabber! aber wo ist das inlay hin...?
  10. also das sieht mal verdammt geil aus. fotos!! noch mehr fotos!!! toller hund, btw
  11. great work, though i do not like spaceship-styled axes very much but i do like the very clean shaping and routing!
  12. thats very impressive work, you did a good job shaping that body, looks great! do you have some photos making the body?
  13. i dont like that little horn on the headstock... everything else is wonderful! all in all very beatiful guitar. right handed one looks better than left handed version
  14. I really like that design, very sexy. waiting for updates
  15. yeah, i got them already. but first of all, they are not complete - and second of all I don't know whether they are accurate? I compared the drawing with images and photos of the guitar, but there were some minor differences concerning the dimensions and positioning of the components. they will be useful though - at least i hope so
  16. this guitar is awesome! never liked the EVH-body very much, but this color is simply gorgeous. keep on!
  17. used the search function but couldnt find anything.... I especially need detailed sketches, pictures, blueprints, constructional drawings and so on. thanks for your help anyway, blackz
  18. woah this simply kicks ass \o/ Im checking out your website every ****ing day, waiting for updates - it is just a wonderful guitar! i want to build a ebmm petrucci copy as my first guitar project, too - do you know where i can find any good reference material, detailed body pictures, sketches, plans et cetera?
