1. the lurker has returned. its a cruiser. made by crafter. squier : fender epiphone : gibson cruiser : crafter and back away i go for another few months.
2. i was toying with the idea of using an old laptop for simple recording (no editing) but then realised that it would probably die in its grimy eight year old case then the idea struck me, to stick FL studio on it - et voila - a drum machine
3. surely if there is no tonal arrangement caused by this pickup, then there is no different between this and having no pickup at all (tonally wise obviously) so what you get is the unaltered sound? correct? but what i am saying, is that different pickups flavour sounds differently due to the magnets used, number of turns in the coil etc i'm sure i'm missing your point completely, and you are missing mine too
4. i personally like the sounds of my different pickups - surely this way is truly bland like the rice of pickups! tastes of nothing, you have to add flavour.
5. not trying to be sarcastic or an arse here (for once) but if they're so spectacular, then why aren't more guitars sold with them as stock? edit - damn your post posting edits
6. nah, just sarcastic. i would've thought that its pretty hard to get every single fretted note on the guitar to be 100% audibly correct.
7. it does not need to be corrected F# (in its nature) should be sharp...if it was flat, it would be an F.
8. ok..i will.. its stood the test of time, and is still every bit as pretty as it was back then http://www.thehappytent.com/rnrxs/1x.jpg http://www.thehappytent.com/rnrxs/2x.jpg http://www.thehappytent.com/rnrxs/3x.jpg
9. your best bet would be to sponsor a competion at www.worth1000.com you will get some frankly amazing results
10.
Sheffield, England... brit-rock, rock on!
ditto
11. jefm : i want it for multiple uses, my old one was my linux baby, but i got tired of that, so its going to mainly be my classic games machine as well as some other functions that i don't want to go into here and now, i would use DOSBox, but until they bring out a version that actually makes your computer stained with age and makes the screen tiiiiiiny i won't be using it
12. its because my 1991 Ambra AMN3000 (made by IBM) died a few days ago, and i need a replacement as i use it for special things
13. thats between me and the old computer gods
14. hey, the title kinda gives it away, mine died a few days ago, and was wondering if anyone had any knocking around in their attics?
15. its like a little cylinder thingy i got it from maplins in a huge box of bits "PC Elect 1uF 100V"
16. ok...finally before i go melt things - does it matter which way round it goes? thanks by the way
17. yeah, but i wanted a mini quick cheap fix btw - tell me if i get too technical here - the .1uF cap is a black booger on legs right?
18. on both tone pots or just the one?
19. hey i'm finding that my strat isn't quite bassy enough when turning the tone knobs down , is there any mod apart from pickup replacement that can rectify this? thanks dan
20. i did search, but didn't want info on blocking FR because i don't have one
21. http://www.guyguitars.com/eng/handbook/Tuning/history.html there ya go used it a lot in a-level music tech and gcse music, although i did drop out, it is very good
22. i know what you mean, and i know that thats the older spelling, i just meant spell it vampire - so my wording sucked edit: and i wasn't poking fun, i'm being serious, theres something about the P and the Y they just don't look as aesthetically pleasing as p and i shrug
23. i think if you spelt vampire properly, it would look a lot less cheesy hair metal - unless thats what you;re going for
24. thanks, while i'm at it, i'm planning on switching necks too, i love the one i finished myself - the one you never got pics of (never fear, new camera in next few months) its still smooth and shiny as hell - thank god for brasso and floor wax i also want to do an electrical mod, something which doesn't alter the appearance, looked at guitarelectronics.com and didn;t see anything interesting...i only want to do something interesting which alters the sound...maybe ansil can help :/ edit: alex, its a vintage trem, which is why i couldn't find any info on the board...sorry for the confusion
