  1. Oh btw, Steve Vai kinda reflects his lydian mode stuff on the songs "Feathers" Heres the link of him havin sum fun: http://www.korg.com/downloads/mp3/artist/FEATHERS.mp3
  2. Anything from nitrocelluose to water-based KTM-9 will do imo
  3. You know, it can be very easy to fool poeple and make stuff excuses up like the paint and the stamp and the fact that it is left to look like its sanded and and prepped properly for someone to finish. Yet, it is another thing to drag yourself into a deeper pit where you may no longer be able climb out of until you admit to anything. I am not blaming you for anything or don't think that the LP is your work...but with previous attitudes reflected by you, it does make us feel like you are hiding something and forcing us to believe something which is not true. Oh yes, by the way, Why do the recess ring on the cavity routes so black and brown? Doesn't this usually happen when you rip an old guitar apart...say that you sanded down a real prs...its not hard to guess that an LP may have been sanded down too.. Hope I am not sounding too harsh...
  4. Seen him..Heard him....Know Him....NEXT!
  5. It is never too late to join the sawdust back onto the guitar like a collage, maybe that will restore the finish to its original state. HAHA ..Jokin Like said already, unless ur some rich ass who can afford PRS's as a dime or if you stole it and have no musical background to guitars, then....I tryly believe that you have gone to a position where nothing can be done but move on. But it is never too late to give it to someone like LGM or other many custom artists out there to finish off what you started and get your money back...with a better finish that is
  6. A green lemon with some wire = YOU GUYS SHOULD GET THE POINT...if not, then nvm...
  7. Go for the behringers. THey mimick the famous boss and tech21's but still sound exactly the same. THe only danos worth buying are the classic ones from >$80 or the FAB pedals series.
  8. Just in case no-one realised. THe sites I gave showed plans and materials to build your own CNC machineries for <$100max...
  9. Just ensure that you group the screw =s to that particular hardware or the wrong screws may be used lol..
  10. Hey, me again Just adding 1 to the single cole thing, I like the YJM too, but just one comment, if you do not want to get too much of a yngwie sig tone (not to affend you TS), but I would then suggest the Fast Track 1 or the Chopper as Yngwie (N Vay) used those before he had his custom made. Due to them not being so ...erm....like Yngwie's special twang tone...
  11. Brian is quite a good person to buy parts from. Shipping is soo cheap! Even if it may take longer than usual, he usually has his resons.
  12. well, i kinda altered some components due to a lack of materials oops - and at first when i plugged it in, the bettery made the circuit make sizzle sounds and release fumes. The switch is a dpdt on/on (IDK Japan) The IC is a RC4558P the 100pf was changed to a 47pf 470k to 510k 0.22uf is a tantalum (that might have cause the problem) and the pot is B25k. Is the diagram on layout showing the pot from above or below?
  13. Just helping out a little here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Dimarzio-EVO-2-Humbuck...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/DiMarzio-F-spaced-Evo-...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Dimarzio-DP215BK-Evo-2...1QQcmdZViewItem THis one is quite suitable http://cgi.ebay.com/DiMarzio-F-spaced-Nort...1QQcmdZViewItem If you're feelin cheap http://cgi.ebay.com/DIMARZIO-DP193-AIR-NOR...1QQcmdZViewItem Or try Universal Jems - (btw, u live in the states? And brian, if you are there, why are the dimarzios on your site only for US only???
  14. Does anyone get sick or feel cheap to have a pedalboard of the same looking pedals. Has anyone considered getting these, gutting them and put them in a personal enclosure???
  15. Its just that I deserve to have more wins than loses, get my point? I built a tube screamer. It was swell, then I checked with my dad (i'm 16) and he said it was fine. Then it screwed up. Since then, I built 2 more Ts-808 circuits and it doesn't get any better. I am just naturally born not to deal with complex circuitry. THe most I can handle is a PCB or a standard guitar schematic. No MORe... So anyways....I spent over USD$80 buying parts when I could get the exact circuit from a new behringer Tube screamer stomp box to put inside my own shell. BTW...if anyone here had used soldering flux...does anyone get very very very sleepy after inhaling a bit of soler fumes?
  16. The whole thing was a FAILure!!! Nothing worked.. It is F**ked up! WHen I plugged the cable into the amp, it sounded crazy! It was fuzzy and buzzy and hummy and screechy all at once!! I will not use this anymore.! I have OFFICIALLY GIVEN UP ON ELECTRONICAL CIRCUITRY!!!!!!
  17. Yer, what course in school do you take? I personally take GCSE's and right now I am doing a guitar myself for project, but you are one lucky Bas***d to be able to use a current design. I am forced by my tech teacher to make my own design. I think he want me to do this because originally, i wanted to build a telecaster but unfortunately my tech teacher is a big telecaster fan so he doesn;t want my custom to beat any of his (and yes, he plays guitar professionally, very well in fact). PS: Your work should be collected in, in periods, but you can always adjust things when you hand in your final copy. Mine is already 83 A3 pages full of work and still i havn't began the manufacturing section. SO think how I would feel with all that hard work if my teacher or the examination board would not let me make some adjustments. PPS: To build a guitar is a big challenge 4 a skool student so as long as its good, no one would even care how much you ammend! Hope this could cheer you up
  18. WOw. Do you think I could use a 25k pot instead of 50k? And fo you think that I could get a clearer pic of the schematic and layouts? Thanks. All I am trying to achieve with your tutorial is to recreate an overdriveish in replacement of my pacifica tone knob rather than make a booster EDIT : I am stupid! I managed to scroll down your page (paul) to find that PDF file.
  19. Dual opamp? Is that what the stacking term means? Hmmm.. But if I use 4558IC, would the tone become more distorted? Does the IC acutally give tube screamers their signature sounds? Cos I see some compressors with them too..
  20. Erm, your photobucket site is protected. A password is nessesary.
  21. I really like the design imo. Its excellent. Its hard for someone not to steal your concept (don't worry, i am not planning to trace your idea). Yep its good, but a HARDTAIL?!? Man, what you should really do is if you can't afford, is to get a speedloading Floyd Rose from www.guitarfetish.com and colour it green with spray or enamel or dipcoat. Same goes with tuners and knobs...etc. Cos if your going for the green forest look, then you should go all the way with matching pickup covers too!! Ever considered a material finish with high quality print on photo paper? Just a suggestion. You proprably would have thought of that. But I totally respect the material finish lol. Can wait to see this done. Man. If I were to build one like this, I would definately hang it on a bare wall then expacd the forest to the rest of a bedroom wall by painting it. As if the guitar was a jigsaw piece, get it? lol to act as a part of a larger forest. Then when you take the guitar to play, there would be an outline of the RG body and neck with no forest hehe!! Anyways, good luck!
  22. I recently took apart my yamaha pacifica 312MKII (Great little player) hoping to change to change the pickups to GFS texas (neck, middle) and the filteron hum (bridge). THen i discovered that I have some spare parts from goodness knows what?, but then it came to me that I could pssibly add a preamp or onboard distortion. This is where my mind stops when I read the preamp on perfboard on (www.diyguitarist.com) with an opamp. As this is meant to be a subtle guitar effect. Do you think it is possible to switch the opamp to a JRC4558D or RC4588P. If this possible to convert the preamp to a dist. that would be great! P.S. I remember seeing somewhere on the net but can't find, about stacking opamps on top of each other like 5 or 6 a pile to create some amazing overdrive. If someone knows what I mean, it would be appreciated if one could pinpoint me to that site. Thx
  23. Its not like we made any negative comment
