  1. I tryed to glue the top on a few times, but the glue keeps setting befor i've spread it all the way around the edges. Would adding more water to the hide glue than it says to to make it thiner and easyer to apply effect the strength of the joint?

  5. I have that bandsaw, appart from a few problems setting it up(which where no falt of the saw) its working out fine for me, you do have to go a bit slow with really hard woods but it gets there in the end.

  7. I used to do it with a hand saw, but now i i do it on my bandsaw cause its way quicker.

  10. I looked into both and went for a bandsaw, once ou get past setting it up it really is a good tool to have.
  11. It's ugly as hell, i wouldn't put that on a guitar if i was payed to do it.
  12. I trace them aswell, but its a bit hard when you don't have anything to trace.
  13. I worked this out last night and it seemed to work for scaling up some pictures, provided they where taken looking straight on at the guitar. First you get something on the guitar that you know is a definite size like the scale length, if its in inches convert it too MM. Then you then measure the scale length on the picture, divide this number into the real scale length and then to get to the real size times any measurement on the picture by the number you just got.

  16. It only has top wheel adjustment, it seems to be working fine now anyway.

  19. Ok i got a bandsaw today, but whenever i turn it on the blade comes off the bottom wheel.I set it up as the booklet that came with it said to. I'v just given up with it for now, anyone got any ideas?

  21. loudandproud did you get the date 1721 from the inside of the violin? You do realise thats about 286 year old if its right my family have violins from about 1880 and i tourght they were old. Do you have any pictures of it?

  24. Rhoads have you seen the guitars you make, you could make a violin, just do it.Hell make a heavy metal violin if you want, it would still be cool.
