my strat works this way top tone controls neck bottom bridge and they seem to both work the middle im going to remove a tone pot as its useless....

try doing series/parrallel and phase/out of phase switching, the brian may wiring can do this but needs 7 switches and a new pickguard http://img335.imageshack.us/img335/9459/br...gmodified25.gif

the best uk site for old parts (transistors mainly) maybe a bit expensive but they got the goods. http://www.cricklewoodelectronics.com/Cric...stomer/home.php they even have a few germanium transistors which are hard as f**k to find...

not the ones ive used all passive they do have a unique design though, i dont think lace do any active pickups http://www.agi-lace.com/

x2n is the dimarzio although it has 15.8 k and is extremely powerfull the lace sensor red dually is 30k wired up correctly

Yes thats to ground the strings (i think), but it depends what guitar you are using telecaster (bridge) strat (spring claw for tremelo)

unless its fixable (the break) id get a new neck, not sure if squire/mm necks would fit tho could always decal a fender logo onto it

yes thats it i have no clue on the resistance only way is to guess it untill you have half of the number you are after then do another the same amount of turns

yes afaik its just 2 bits of steel with a bar magnet in between (so each side makes it a different polarity) simple enough to make the only hard bit is soldering the coils together (end of one to the start of the next)

the rails are the pole pieces its just a piece of metal with a magent behind hit and you can use magnets if you want they are just hard to shape. thats why rails/pole pieces/screws are used to carry the magnetic field maybe ebaying a cheap rail bucker and taking it to bits :O would be a good idea
