OK, so I'm rubbing out some scratches/swirls on my 1999 Custom Shop Jackson. As I removed the control cover to clean out the ridge, a 5/16x1/8 chip lifted off with it! GRRRRRrrrrrrr....
Apparently, it had never been removed prior to this, and was slightly stuck to the black top coat (which apparently hadn't cured before the cover was installed). It flaked off, revealing the red coat underneath. Very freaking obvious...
The chip is still in one piece (with a little checking), and fits right back into place.
Can someone step me through the process? I would prefer to take it to a pro, but that just isn't an option for me ATM, as I was prepping it for sale (need cash).
