  1. I just bolted on the neck. I's too late to use the drillpress, so I'll attach the bridge tomorrow, as well as get the rest of the hardware, except the pickups. I MAY even begin finishing it this weekend.
  2. MINE was fine, they kinda messed up one of my boss's pieces, some sweet quitled to.
  3. BTW, here's a campfire style mandolin I built, entirely out of scrap wood, except for the fingerboard. I sold it for $500 too!
  4. StewMac has a Kit for one. Kit You can view the instructions online, so this could sort of act like plans. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0. Instructions
  5. Can we see the site, even though it's under construction?
  6. 3 1/4" sounds like a small, one piece frame, bench top. I'd invest in a larger saw, like at least a 14". That way if you ever want to resaw tops, you could have that ability, plus there's alot more power. Yeah, I'd hate to have to send some wood out to be cut. I remember when I got a piece of figured maple, the guy came by with like 7 pieces, and I chose one and my boss chose two, I marked out how I wanted it resawn, and I remember being quite nervous as to what it wood look like when I got it back.
  7. Mines a 14". It's just the riser Delta makes for it costs about $250CDN, and risers for cheaper brand bandsaws won't fit, or so I was told, so I just decided to make one. It wasn't hard at all, it was fun actually. There are alignment pins that align the frame, so you need to make sure you drill acurate holes for the pins, and make longer pins. Do you have just a 9" bandsaw? If so, you probably are stuck with what you have, because only 14" saws have the two piece frame. Show me a picture of your saw if you can, that may help.
  8. Yeah, I was gonna buy the one Delta makes for their saw, but it's like $250 So I just made one for like $10. I designed it so I can get 8.5" under the guard, and I can use a standard 98" blade. Here is the guard I made.
  9. Currently they're stickered, and will probably stay that way until I use them.
  10. These two pieces are from the same billet I got the top for this guitar out of. Not sure what I want to do with them though. They should be drop tops(1/4" thick) when finished. I have a cool version of a PRS body I still haven't really used yet. I think a Mahogany body, preferably 1-piece, with one of these as a top would be cool, don't know about finish though. I also have never done a Les Paul body shape either... Maybe what I'll use them for is a flat top Les Paul style guitar with a drop top, and my PRS-ish body. Both with Mahogany bodies, don't know about neck joints yet, or finish.
  11. Cool. What brand is your thickness sander?
  12. That was probably me. Here is my feedback page. He still uses that account, and has recently changed his name. My old ebay account.
  13. Here is some flamed maple I just resawed. I made the riser for the bandsaw myself, so I customized the cutting height to 8.5" using a stanard 98" blade. Took me a few minutes to cut each board.
  14. Depends what you want to do. I had the crappiest 8" for a while, but I wanted to do my own resawing, so I got a Delta 14" and just added my own riser today to resaw. Basically, unless you want to resaw, a small bench-top should suit you fine.
  15. Thanks! I still think that is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO weird! There are so many similarities...I guess great minds do think alike!
  16. HOLY SH*T!!!!! The resemblance is incredible! It even has speed knobs and the same bridge! What kinda guitar is that? I based the body shape on Yamaha's version of a Tele. Looks like the top is arched too.
  17. Yeah the violin kit is understandable, but I've just wanted to try using a pre-fab neck and body just for fun. It's not gonna be an SRV.
  18. StewMac, LMI, www.customshopparts.com I get my 'regular' woods from Windsor plywood and Reimer Hardwoods. The figured stuff I'm still shopping around for, for a place that has the best quality and price.
  19. I will. I faxed myorder yesterday and got a confrimation email from StewMac saying they sent it out yesterday. I'll probably recieve it sometime during the week following March break.
  20. Maybe, or you could try an ogee bit. Or maybe a combination of then
