  1. the neck looks damaged in one of the pics... what happened there?
  2. oh and when letting the filler dry on a cold day, dont ever leave it outside! lucky i tested a piece of plywood and it split it a week! and for the sanded filler, dont leave it on concrete! i did that at it filled the grain in on my pavement.
  3. i like it! but why only one humbucker? i rekon you should sharpen up the edges too cuz it looks kinda out of place to me
  4. actually the company is under a few names but not under Benson i found out. I have also heard that BC Rich has a 666 under it...
  5. On my cheap project guitar i discovered a hidden decal hidden in the neck. I used paint stripper to remove the paint and in the process the first decal came off but the paint didnt yet. i sanded the paint down a little with medium grit and letters appeared! The original decal was Hornsay and hidden under it was the decal BENSON! Obviously Hornsay must have stolen the neck and refinished it with thier decal to claim it 'thiers'. I wish i could take a photo but i have already sanded it down. Has anyone else found anything like this?
  6. ive realised some of the previous questions were stupid and pointless but i have properly read your comment and i have come up with the wired diagram all i dont understand is why the red and white wires dont connect to anything.
  7. dont i have to solder the remaining switch lug to the tone knob?
  8. What about the loose cables that nothing is attached to? The 1 white wire and the 2 black wires with a ring at the end. If you're talking about the white wire on the volume control, I think I covered it in the last sentence. That is where the center lug(s) of the toggle switch needs to be connected. The two black wires with a ring at the end in your diagram is probably where the pickup ground wires connected and would be covered under "solder the black and bare wire of each pickup to your ground connection on back of the volume control". You can either splice to these wires or remove them and solder the pickup grounds directly to the back of the volume pot - your choice. Do you have a bridge ground? Maybe a black wire going inside the body wood toward the bridge or tailpiece whatever you happen to have? If so, solder that to the back of the volume pot also. Yes i do have a bridge ground and thanks for the wiring info. 2 more questions: do more expensive 3 way switches have a difference than normal ones? How come my Jackson pots are 2 times larger than my original made in china gibson ones??
  9. What about the loose cables that nothing is attached to? The 1 white wire and the 2 black wires with a ring at the end.
  10. your lucky, i used a jigsaw and drill instead of a router, Big mistake. The jisaw was going too slow and bounced back and put wholes in the body of the guitar.
  11. I just got a pair of humbuckers out of a Jackson JS30 today and wanted to know how to wire it with the pots and inputs it came with. I also would like to add my existing 3 way switch since the jackson never came with one. Could someone tell me how to wire it and how to tell which one is the volume knob. Here is a diagram i drew. EDIT: They are from a Jackson JS30 but are called CVR2 Humbuckers
  12. i have bought Jackson emg style high output humbuckers of a JS30. I bought em cuz i heard there as good as Emgs.

  15. yeah i dont wanna use wood tho, i want pre made metal ones.
  16. 1. Cover all cavities when stripping the paint off unless you want to repaint the cavity. 2. Do not let paint stripper dry in the screw holes (i learnt the hard way)
  17. I was wondering what other machine heads are there that i could get that are not the average oval one. Ive seen the the ones that look like this but its just doesnt cut it for me __ \_/ I want something more sharp and evil The smallened bass machine head would be cool.
