  2. im thinking that the body would be way to wide only problem i can see lol other than that the only other thing i can say is mabey build a standard style of guitar that other people have built that way they can answere u questions better and u get a learning experience ... im no pro by far but there are guys on here i really look up 2 and that have helped me and hopefully they can help u

  5. i think lp's are 17.25" long bottom is about 12.5" waist is about 7" and top part is about 9" here are a couple of really good links on making the arch and alround build of a lp http://www.geocities.com/keithgregg1946/page3.html http://members.fortunecity.com/jtfish/lpc/cvr/cover.htm hope this helps u but lps dont have to be that think the one im making now is gonna be a little less then 1.5"thick i love lp shapes but i hate how heavey the darn things are
  6. ok what dimensions are u looking for ... that would help a little if we all new anotherthing click on my link and view my topics iv asked just about everything 2 know about lps and im sure ull find it there
  7. you may be able to find 1 problem is it may not have the inlay u want and may cost $300 or more ud have to check
  8. yeah they are pre inlayed and pre slotted the only difficult thing is finding 1 in the scalelenght u want and radius good thing is its only 30$ and u can get neck blanks for around that 2 (depending on wood) but for the inlays alone may cost 50$ and the fret board mabey another 30 depneding on typ of wood
  9. i have no clue to tell u they truth never gottn one but the tools u need for inlay are alot unless u do every thing with a set of hobby knivzes

  12. do u want a set neck, bolt-on or thru? id go with a mahagony for a setneck, maple with wenge laminate for a bolt on, and pretty much what ever ud want with the thru
  13. well i cant find the page so ill just tell u some of the woods u can use : pauduk (spelling?) koa spruse maple mahagony ash poplar zebra alder redwood lacewood purple heart walnut rosewood some cherry basswood bubinga white limba cocoba wenge cedar fir snakewood sycamore ziricote

  16. it depends what u want to make the neck out of it may be cheaper the buy a neck blank and a preinlayd/fretted fret board off of ebay iv seen them go for 50-150 fretting takes a lot of patience (spelling?) work and tools same with some inlaying tools... all depends just give us some details u want on the neck

  19. well i start off telling u guys that im making a guitar for my wood tech 2 class but the wood selection is not that great 2"oak 2"poplat7/8"maple 1"willow 1"cherry 1"ash and thats pretty much it but most of the boards arent any wider than 6" so im asking do u guys think the guitar would look alright useing 3pieces of walnut and 3 piece of maple or should i just use the oak and make a bolt on neck (oak is 2"x8"x40) with the 3 pieces of maple?oh yeah is oak an ok would 2 use?

  21. i have a bunch of shells that a friend gave me thinking that i might be able to turn them into inlay blanks any one know how i might do this?
