  1. Look here This a slide switch. You need two of them. Two pickups with mounting rings. Two potentiometers (pots) and a bridge. look here The wires will go inside and if your neat you can hide them. I am not an expert on wiring so you can ask more on that later. It is a reletively easy fix. Check out pics of other hollow bodies. I have had to use dental floss to pull the pots through on my Gibson. Don't give up, once you start you should see how easy it will be. And you can get a lot of support here.
  2. My last project sprayed with Minwax polyurethane. It was soft for awhile, but hardened after a few months.
  3. I don't think the redwood would take a carriburst color very well.
  4. Forget about that kid. Lower your blood pressure and build a nice guitar.
  5. Lucky I'm not most people! Hell, I'm not even a people?
  6. MMMMMMMM CHERRRY! MMMMMMMM BIRRRCH! Does any one if either stain as well as maple???
  7. THEY ARE AIR DRIED TO 8%, THERE IS A SMALL SPLIT ON ONE END OF THE NARROW ONE. THEY ARE FULL FIGURE ON BOTH SIDES AND FROM ONE END TO ANOTHER This the info I recieved back on that nice maple I posted a few days ago. NOOOO! not the sick a moor!
  8. Yea, it looks like what a fish sees when it's looking at the sand in the caribbean of course. See my post at the top of this page.
  9. I don't know much more about the wood than the pic. I will find out more and post the details soon. I E-mailed and asked for more info so I can pass it on.
  10. Damn I feel old around here. 47 and feelin it. Worst thing is arthritis in the fingers. Now I play slower. Oww!
  11. I would like to enter this cloth top. Iwill post better pics soon.
  12. I agree I am always sceptical of net shopping. I looked at some sycamore just now and found some beautiful wood for a resonable price. Still have to know how it finishes. Sycamore is one of those names used for a variety of species, and this common usage can lead to confusion. The authors of the Encyclopedia of Wood try to make sense of the situation. “What the British call sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus), the Americans call maple, and what the Americans call sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) the British call lacewood. What the Australians, on the third hand, call maple (actually Queensland maple, Flidersia braleyana) is part of the satinwood family (rutaceae).” I'm so confused.
  13. I have quite a bit of flamed maple of the trees I cut down last weekend. I was hoping for quilt though. How does sycamore finish?
  14. Aw, shucks. I have been having a hard time finding a great piece that is affordable. I'll keep hoping enough people want some. If anybody does want a piece let me know. Email: wwnsw@centurytel.net I am going back outside to continue cutting on some maple in hopes of finding the right piece. Also, I was afraid that 20" wouldn't work for the bass. Thanks. Wes
  15. Hey Derek, I like your way of thinking. That would be the only way I could ever get this piece. $50.00 for a AAAAA 7.5" x 20" x 1" sounds like a great deal. Hope somebody else likes that idea. Earlier I posted a question about the length of a P bass. Would 20" be enough to top a body??
  16. I found the perfect pieces for a carriburst. Too big for me, but does any one want to go buy any of this??? Two pieces are 4/4 x 7.5" x 120". I only need one piece 20" long. They are asking $500.00 for the two. This is easily enough for ten drop top. That would make a lot of nice tops for the compitition. Any takers??
  17. Can someone tell me the length of a P bass.
  18. How much depth of concave are you talking? If the pieces are thick enough you might have to sand them flat. I don't think you want the pieces sticking up past the fret board. I think putting epoxy around the would work, but it wouldn't look pretty.
  19. Look at this. If you want a great blues sound check one of these out. I use one with crappy P/U's and it allows the guitar to cry the blues.
  20. Hey, I can't find a real great piece of wood. Are you guys buying it all? WAAAAA!
