  1. I haven't used the ISP decimator myself, but I have a friend who has one and says it's the best he's ever used, he used to be a guitar junkie so he's owned a bunch of stuff. Like I said, I don't know myself though, I have an NS-2 and it works well enough for my needs, not great, but yeah, it works.
  2. Looks nice. What sort of pickup is in the bridge of your guitar there, it looks like one of those cheap artec pickups on ebay, I'm just curious if they're any good.
  3. Oh, I never said mine's off, I'm just curious.
  4. How big of a deal is it if the truss rod is off center a little bit, or a decent amount, of the neck?
  5. Dang, now my cocobolo fretboard doesn't look so cool, hehe. Fretboard looks awesome as does the rest of the neck. In the second to last link, the back of the neck, it looks like there is a heel and then it dips down and then another heel, what's that for?
  6. Looks good to me, I really like the carve on the top except right next to the neck, and the carve for the back is awesome. I still haven't decided how I'm gonna do it on my build, I might have to take some off yours lol. Very nice lookin' instrument. Don't know what to recommend as far as finish, gotta know what sort of finish you want, i.e. glossy, matte, whatever. And there are a lot of people here that like emg's, I don't, but a lot do lol
  7. Oh, for anyone interested I did get the veritas low angle. I used it the neck, after using a rasp to shape the ends lol. It worked really well, very easy to set up and use, I didn't have any problems with it whatsoever.
  8. OOOOHHHHHH, pretty colors....... hehe Looks very nice, but I can't see the other two pictures.
  9. I'd say keep it on here, whatever happens with the old body could be a new thread. Just my thoughts though
  10. I got some more done tonight. First thing I did is to draw out the headstock. It took a while to get it how I liked it, but I'm happy with how it's gonna look, and I did set the tuners on and make sure it'll all fit right and everything, so no problems there. Then I cut the back off the neck off, excess that is. And finally, I got the neck rough shaped, it's not perfectly straight (slightly bumpy), but it should be able to sand out well. I did get to use my new spokeshave, got the veritas low angle one, and I really liked it, I still need some practice with it, but it was really easy to use. 11. Here's a tutorial on a material finish, you should be able to do the same basic idea with smaller pictures or whatever you want http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/mat.htm
  12. Tell us where you are, there's bound to be someone from around you or at least has been there and has an idea.
  13. Looks very nice. I'm not a huge fan of the bottom of it, I like cut outs there, just not the flat ones like that. Very nice job though, I really like the back
  14. A standard miter saw is an 1/8 inch thick I believe, so no, it would not be the same as a fret saw and wouldn't work unless you have super wide frets. Also, a miter saw is meant to cut all the way through the piece, I don't think there's really a way to keep it from doing that. A radial arm saw or a table saw would be the way to go if you wanna go powered, you have to buy a special blade for fretting though. oooooohhhhh, I just gathered that you mean an unpowered one, DOH!!!!! No clue then, sorry, hehe
  15. cool, looks like a fun project. Is it just gonna have one pickup with the 28 frets, or are ya still gonna fit two in?
  16. That's cool. The guitar sounds good and the playing's really good too, much better than I. Great job
  17. I had the same idea as you metalwarrior lol, figured if no one else enters my partly done guitar could get them lol. anyway, here's mine here's a close up of the body, the wings aren't glued on yet, gonna shape the neck first http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z120/an...=DSC01051_2.jpg
  18. Well, I finally got some work on this. I still need to design the headstock, grrrrr, but I'm gonna do that this week and make the template, then route it out during class next week. Over the weekend I got the fretboard shaped and glued in place on the neck, I still haven't radiused it by the way, so don't worry about that, hehe. Today I used a template bit and used the fretboard as a template to get the neck profiled, worked great. Now, I have a story to tell of why you should never let anyone touch your project that claims they know what they're doin', including teachers....... So, I had to route out for the truss rod, easy enough, I figured I'd use a router table, I already made the spot for the end so that's where I'd start the bit so it didn't tear anything out. Well, I was gonna do it in class. My teacher said I should do it freehand and make a jig, ok, fine. Well, he measured out the amount of bit showing, I told him the depth, and he claimed he grabbed a 1/4 inch bit, well, neither were right. Luckily he had measured the depth too short and the bit was a 3/16 instead of 1/4. So I took it home and used my dad's router table. Took me only a few minutes and it was the right depth and width. I'm never lettin' anyone mess with my projects again lol. http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z120/an...=DSC01050_2.jpg http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z120/an...=DSC01051_2.jpg
  19. Looks like the case fits very nicely. The only thing I see is that I would suggest putting in an extra piece to help support the neck.
  20. As far as I've heard it's Padook, phonetically. I like that neck, it looks awesome.
  21. WOW, it's awesome to see the finished product, very well done. I wish I could go down there just to see this thing in action. I'd like to see a pic of how it fits in the case as well. It's interesting to see how it all fit together, I wasn't sure where the all the switches and knobs were gonna go
