    could i hand paint a guitar w/ oil paints or do i need to use acrylics?

    it has been talked about alot but im not sure if anyone has given a definite answer yet. what ive figured out so far is that humbrol enamel paints are the best. make sure they're enamel and not the acrylic kinds. Or you can just experiment, but make sure its enamel not just oil paints because ive tried reeves oil paints for example and they just keep there shape and sit in the bottom of the bucket.

    i think that mayb u dont actually have to route anything. On my kramer baretta the floyd sits on the body as designed by van halen. in that case i think all you would have to do is fill the screw holes from the strat trem then drill two holes for the floyds posts. of course w/ this design, it is impossible to pull up on the floyd

    its the same for most spray paint clear coats just so everyone knows. ive messed up a guitar id just finished painting by using a rubber stand

    i think that converting that actual tremolo would be almost impossible. i would love to see someone do it. it would be easier to buy a floyd and just route out the new cavity in the guitar. i guess that u could put a locking nut on the guitar and still use the strat trem but it would be somewhat hard to tune.

    why? i think that would look pretty strange but whatever floats ur boat. anyways w/ powder coat i think that its usually pretty thick and the saddles might get pretty tight and the paint probably chips of pretty easy.

    can you put any scale neck on any body? heres my situation...im getting a guitar body but i dont know if i could put any neck on it or if i need a certain scale neck. if i need to use a specific neck then how can i find the scale length from only the body?

    i know that plenty of guitars come sith h/s/h but i was wondering if it is okay to add a single coil to a guitar that is originally h/h. i thought there might be a problem w/ emi but i wasnt sure

    i dont have a pickguard anymore, i dont know where it went, so im filling the front then rerouting from the back similar to the newer sqires

    the cavity im filling isnt very evenly cut. its a pretty hacked up strat cavity. should i bondo over it or sumtin to fill the edges?

    you might try doing a simple swirl with not necesarily "metallic colors" but bright colors that go well with watever metallics you want to use the try marbelizing over that after the swirl has been laquered. by marbelizing i mean something similar to this http://www.edromanguitars.com/newsite/cust...ages/rosb22.jpg

    does anybody have any good combinations of colors to make a cool looking swirl. What is a good base color, and good colors to put over them?

    he used to recommend krylon but they recently changed their forumla or sumtin so i thin that if u r going to use spraypaint i would would use duplicolor. i still use krylon everyonce and a while, its ok but john knows what hes talking about so if he says not to use krylon it should be avoided

    how hard would it be to make one of these? ive got electronic experience. is it a special schematic or just a multi position pot with capacitors and each posistion? i know that they're smd's and theres no way im using those so how big would they be w/ regular capacitors? any info on them would be nice.

    primal, that looks pretty cool, but would the EMI still not interfere with the bridge? u should make a prototype and try it out.

    has anyone done any cool graphics. other than dyes and solid colors. im talking about airbrush work ,etc.
