  1. sorry posted before i read properly ignore this post
  2. Im to dumb to answery our questions, but welcome to the forum!
  3. Yeah I think the best touch is the color match of the headstock. also the headstock shape is pretty simple yet totally killer. I like it alot! In fact you may have made up my mind about getting that ht 10 kit
  4. drummers are interesting animals. drummers are a dime a dozen, but finding a good one is hard. The drummer in my band is out right now (he's just had disc fusion surgery on his spine), and finding someone good enough to just fill in has been a challenge. It's funny if you are any kind of a "Pocket" conscious player, I think your best friend in the band ends up being the drummer and the bass player. Now you wanna hate on a band member, hate on the oboe player. He's always a cocky SOB and he gets all the girls
  5. WOW that is super nice, a quick how to on that marble finish would be awesome
  6. I wonder how many people wont get that joke, but it gave me a grin!
  7. Couple of questions. 1. When "relicing" hardware, do the screw heads bcome to stripped and flaked to use. 2. How do you get the wear on the finish to look even, i.e. where your arm rubs against the front of the guitar. I guess what Im asking is how do you get that to look authentic. and finally, someone said they did the elic job to an LP, can we get pics????
  8. Wow I like the way the LP Specials finish looks now as opposed to teh original finish. Very nice!
  9. now that all the SDMF's have weighed in on the subject...........
  10. Hey Southpa (leave those kids aloooooone! -insert david gilmour double stops-) Right on about Children of the Grave and other early Sabbath! I always thought Geezer was overlooked as a lyricist!
  11. Hey can we get a bullseye tutorial going to go along with it??????????
  12. leo keottke to kenny g on a guitar for me (then again I used toe be a staight ahead jazz head) o and thanks for the info Ace!
  13. look like the neck isn't long enough (hahahaha) sorry couldn't resist!. Looks reall good, All these guys building their first time axe gives me some hope of how my first build will come out! The talent that seems to find its way here is pretty amazing!
  14. I'd pick something with alot of harmonic minor runs. THey seem to translate well onto the acoustic. just my 2 cents tho. Good luck!
  15. Worst, anything written by neil pert (sp?) of rush. Love the music but the lyrics are just plain hokey. Best, I like Chris DeGarmo's (guitar) lyrics with Queensryche, Geoff Tate's (vox) were ok but a little scattered at times.
  16. I gotta weigh in on this one. I give Cobain credit ofr additude alone. Thats all heh ad going for him IMHO. As far as the guy jating on Zakk, I'm ont surprised at all. I think Zakk is a guy you love or hate. Very different kind of player for sure, so hay nothing but love. And last, I gotta say I was VERY GLAD not to see clapton on that list. I am soooooo sick of the Clapton is God stuff. I always felt like he was the most overrated guitarist evr (with a quick nod to Keith Richards as well). But that is the beauty of this thread. It just goes to show that all of their music, regardelss of one individual opinion of them (even those godawful whitestripes) has a place in the music universe. O and Kudos to the guy who mentioned Cobain and Randy Rhoads in the same sentence. You are FAR MORE broad minded than I! OOO and I almost forgot, Killowat who is this Carl Verheyen guy? I'd like to hear about him and his style!
  17. Best- a toss up between G3 with petrucci or ozzfest 98 (it would have been ozzfest totally but i had to sit through limp bizkit and a bunch of other crappy bands, but i did get to see ozzy! megadeth, and motorhead.) worst- Allman Bros at Alltell Pavillion in 00 it was way too loud and they had lucinda williams opening for them. yuck
  18. I saw him in alittle club here in Raleigh NC called the ritz. He was headlining and derek trucks was opening. OMG that was a killer show! I ws amazed at the amount of virtuosity displayed that night. truly killer!
  19. You are correct that what i get for skimmin post!!!
  20. A riff is any short repeating pattern single note or chords. And its even a riff if you use constant variations. However in the venacular, a riff is just a music passage of any form, ive even heard people refer to portions of a solo as a riff. Go figure. And you may both be right about eric johnsons time date on austin city limits cuz i think he's done it twice. The more memorable is the one where he is wearing that dumb looking high school band jacket! hehehe EJ rips live, he does CLiffs of dover like 2 x faster its amazing to hear. Itll make your head spin!
  21. Yeah the riff in Last Resort was also in 7th son of a 7th son and some othe rplaces too, it was like a signature maiden kinda thing. o and favs are crazy train, Superterrorizer by BLS, Cemetary Gates, and Satch's boogie is sick! o yeah and dark star by YNGWIE!!!!!!!! btw I heard Joe lynn turner say that Yngwie's real name is Lars .
  22. dude the volute on that bass is extreme. It looks like a mountain! Truely talented work all over that bass. If you find any spare talent send it my way!!!!
  23. Sorry just a bad joke about how triumph in my opinion sounds a lot like rush. sorry for hijacking the thread as well.
  24. Triumph, I liked them better the first time. When they were called RUSH hahahaha sorry
