  2. That works well with the way the FB "breaks out". Very nice indeed. I also like the rose colored top. I cant wait to see this one completed.
  3. Nice clean mask job on the control cav & pup route
  4. Very Nice. I currently have a build working with similar stripes.
  5. ziricote would look good for the branches
  6. Sweet! I love how the inlay goes through the purfling Was that planned...or a "happy accident"?
  7. Question for all the CNC guys... I've been working on a couple jobs recently that require a conical FB radius. I have the model, and the toolpath in a TAP file (I use Mach 3). I plan on posting some toolpaths for anyone who needs them, but doesnt have the software, or the experience to create them. So heres the question: What type of toolpath files do you all use? Post away....
  8. The neck binding looks really good with that fretboard
  9. The HS will be a 4X4. I thought about an 8 in line, but it would be a hocky stick Thanks...It has been a while I guess. I got the skull from this site: http://www.smileyvault.com/thumbnails.php?...mp;search=skull
  10. It will definately look dirty...like it's been dug up. I'm thinking after the detail carving is done, I'll paint the entire guitar white. Then paint it black, and wipe off the raised :bone" areas while the black is still wet. The technique will also require some sanding of the black. I am shooting for a more realistic, less "cartoony" look than this: Sorry to post a "Roman" link
  11. I decided to re-design it. Still not 100% happy with the design.
  12. Been thinking about doing this for quite some time now. I have a couple 8 string necks ready to go, so I may do two. I have all the layout & 3d modeling finished, so the hard part is done. I'll rough these out on the CNC, then do the detail carving by hand. Here are the specs: Alder Body 27 1/2" scale B/O Maple Neck w/ no inlay EMG 808 One Volume Pot Black Hardware Single String Bridges The white areas will have a photoluminescent pigment added to the clear. In regular daylight the pigment is invisible, in the dark it glows green. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get these into prduction.... Soon I hope.
  13. If the bridge needs raised, top the body with a thin top wood. It will cover the plugs, and give the guitar a new look.
  14. Ziricote is my favorite wood. That is one beautiful body!
  15. Looks great Carl! My "violin" shape is more strat like:
  16. Cool idea! Lately I've been seriously thinking about building a franky replica...
  17. I heard the "Beat it" solo the other day...I guess was inspired:
