Spyderbell Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Anyone know if these are worth the money? I don't know how they sound/feel/anything about them. I was just wondering cause they look kinda cool. Any info is welcome please! Thanks agian, Colin Quote
syxxstring Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 one of my fav guitars is my parker nitefly because the graphite fret board rocks... just my opinion. if you have a chance play a parker to get an idea for the fretboard feel. Quote
Brian Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Just pulled this off of the Gold Tone site which are famous for their Banjo's but I'm pretty sure the same applies to guitar necks made out of Graphite: 5 reasons why your next neck should be graphite: 1 Improves tone on any banjo... graphite composition is more consistent than wood fibers and actually promotes tone enhancement. 2 Graphite is impervious to temperature and humidity changes, resulting in incredible neck stability in any climate or weather. 3 Fingerboard levelness is perfect... not a hint of twist! Provides lowest action possible on all strings, without fret buzz. 4 Smoothglide finish, satin finish on back of neck provides effortless left hand motion as you move up and down the neck. 5 Graphite strength! Allows for a thinner neck profile without sacrificing any neck strength. Stays in better tune, and adjustable truss rod works smoothly. Quote
Spyderbell Posted May 2, 2003 Author Report Posted May 2, 2003 Well that sounds like fun! I'm thinking i'll have to try one on my next project. Though that'll prolly start in early fall cause i don't think i'll have any money till then! Thanks for the info and i hope they're as good as it makes them sound! -Colin Quote
guitar_ed Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Howdy All, Being an inquisitive type, and unemployed, I thought "I wonder if anybody makes a graphite neck for a telecaster??" Lo and behold, I found Moses Graphite who have a licensed Fender neck. I may have to check one out. Guitar Ed Quote
westhemann Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 yeah the tricky thing is to find a 24 fret one to fit on an ibanez(already been through that with no luck).i am curious as to whether or not graphite holds glue well enough to make a through neck.and how do you work it and what is it exactly?it's not the same stuff they make pencils out of is it?where are the solid graphite guitars?as you can tell i know nothing about this so maybe someone would enlighten me? westhemann Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 mose sure does have a nice baritone neck. :o Quote
westhemann Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 this is pretty cool and i guess you can make a thru neck. Quote
Oddball Lefty Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 4 Smoothglide finish, satin finish on back of neck provides effortless left hand motion as you move up and down the neck. Don't they mean RIGHT hand motion? Anyhow, been considering a graphite-neck Strat when I finish the aluminum-neck (Aluminium, for any UK members of this board) Moses hasn't neglected us southpaws, so I'd like to support 'em. But I have a ? about 'em. Do they have a seperate part number for necks set up for Sperzels, or are they universal in that regard, i.e. has different mounting holes for bolting up the machines. Would LSR machines be a possibility on one of these necks? Quote
