dmic
Hello, I'm currently designing a guitar used for tapping - it will lay flat like a lap steel. I would like to design the neck to be very responsive to any slight finger touch and was thinking about positioning a pickup near the headstock and/or maybe even take up the first fret area. Are there any guitars out there that use this idea already or something similar? Thanks, Doug Michael

dmic
Hello, Thanks - this looks like my kind of site with a ton of guitar info. I'll let you know how this turns out. I have built several guitarish instruments using a walker, wood, and contact mics. Here's a link to a pict if your interested. My new idea will incorporate some of those ideas along with some new stuff including some oscillators and a lo-fi sampler. http://members.ispwest.com/dmichael/cmau.html Thanks, Doug Michael
Brian
That is very interesting, what is the idea behind using the dry ice
dmic
Hello, The dry ice sounds incredible when heated. Kendra Juul captures this thru a contact mic and moves the dry ice over different metal surfaces. As the ice melts it makes some pretty wild screeching sounds.
