rhoads56
Rhoads look at it this way though.. If you helped enough people you could become a VIP and not have the flood control to worry about though. You could post 10 back to back, with the one picture a post, until all your pictures was up. hmmm, i figured id already contributed enough.... actually, looking at who has VIP badges, maybe i should contribute less, and post more crap thats not related. silvertonessuckbutigotone
i know a guy who gave me a few pointers in this area. well first he said to stain black sand/wipe back, then put a couple clears on. THEN do your color (spray) and then more clear. The reason for this is, if you have a peice of quilted wood and you look at it from different angles different parts of the wood shine differently, like its holographic (theres a word for this blahblahblahcity i think ). To preserve this characteristic do the steps mentioned above.

Drak
Actually, as soon as you apply any kind of dark stain like black, you just killed all the chatoyancy in the wood. Chatoyancy is normally seen when you finish the piece clear and really pop the grain. THAT'S when you see some real chatoyancy in a piece of figured wood. No matter how nice you may make it look with stain black / sand back techniques, you kill the REAL 3D effect as soon as you dye it dark. silvertonessuckbutigotone
well of course you would have to compromise between how intense the black is and the chatoyancy because you'll have to BARELY leave any black on there.
