Dugz Ink
I would love to, but my wife wouldn't appreciate it right now. She said something about buying a new stereo for her birthday. Hmmm.....
LGM Guitars
That's nice, if I hadn't had a couple of 5A quilt maple billets show up last week I'd have been in for sure, but the $$$ just aren't there right at the moment.
bigdguitars
doh, I might buy and hold on to this... the only problem is that people on ebay have short memory...
erikbojerik
A whole body out of bubinga will be very heavy. Just look at the weight of the board (82 lbs...)
Scott Rosenberger
You could make sone sweet Acoustic Backs and sides out of that! I'd be in if I didnt have 3 projects going right now Sorry Derek
VanKirk
Lost in a mountain of photos, I have a pic from my old work (Kurzweil/ Young Chang Pianos) of a full sized grand piano made out of bubinga. Looks almost identical to that board but with a deep gloss finish. I would always ooh & ahh at it as I walked by.
bassman
bid.... I had my eye on that piece, did you end up winning that auction? Jim Soloway
We've got some figured bubinga that we're working on right now. It's from Gilmer (www.gilmerwood.com), not a cheap source, but at least you can get a lot smaller pieces than that so it's not nearly as big a commitment. Given the density and the way it can splinter, I don't think I'd want to use anything thicker than 1/4". This is a shot of it completely raw and untreated.
