bigdguitars
Well no staining on this one. Already laminated the neck. Flamed purple heart and wildwood maple. not sure of shape yet. Thinking of Rick or jerry garcia type shape. What are your guys thoughts? Here is a pic...

Maiden69
I'll say any double cut will fit well with the wood selection, I love that purpleheart looks great.
n3rrd
I really like the colors, but just out of preference, I would think that it would make the to be great looking neck even nicer if the center laminate was a tad thicker. Just my opinion though. Otherwise, the woods are gorgeous.

bigdguitars
hey hijacked thread.... anyway I have no idea what to do with this body, I am thinking of the washburn a20 type of shape... I tried to design something last night and I can't do it... my dimensions are off.
skibum5545
I really like the idea of a Jerry Garcia type number. The quasi- (or is it semi-?) metal shape would complement the selection of woods and the contrast of the maple and purpleheart. I can imagine this thing is going to have a very bright tone; what kind of electronics are you thinking?

chrisb0109
Looks great. I just made a laminate neck blank out of purpleheart and cherry. It looks similar to yours, but the strips are in a different pattern. However, mine is a bolt on. For the body I am planning to use a laminate of purple heart and cherry. The front would be cherry and bak prpleheart. The fretboard will either be cherry (has anyone ever done this?) or birds eye maple.
