xebryusguitars
hahaha yeah sure, their schecter s-1 elites. I love them, cant wait to get one, played one at guitar center. CudBucket
Looks nice stoo. Why didn't you grain fill the top? Just curious. Thanks. Dave
stoo
Dave. Grain filling on figured maple was never mentioned on any of the several tutorials i read. I think it might interfere with the sexy light tricks the maple displays. Plus maple has little or no fillable grain/pore. IMHO. stew
Maiden69
I can say that it has come out nice, but I think that that top deserved a black sand back stain job! Too nice of a grain to waste it like that but, it's your guitar and you are the one that has to like it.
stoo
M69. I thought long and hard about that. Probably fretted(no pun intended) more on this decision than any other. The green I used is so strong (dark) that I decided that a touch of black might make the whole finish to dark. I did put on 3 coats of green before sanding back. The pics don't show it well but the dark part of the figuring is really quite dark, almost black. Whew!! I think I just convinced mySELF! :-) Stew
Maiden69
Cool, it does look darker and I did noticed that, Just that with the black it would have been, if I can say quicker to darken the grain and then you just had to rub enough to get the green shade you wanted... but like I said it turned out nice, just that it's not my cup of coffe. I like it strong as it can be.
javacody
Looks good. You do realize that you have that Stop Tail piece on backwards, right? The strings would pull it right off the studs.
