Usually the fret tang is not much longer then 3-5 mm.... ← imagine i cuted the metal exact fit , the fretboard is a regular wood one e iinstalled the frets then cuted the place for the inly then epoxied the metal to the fret board then polishing sorry my bad english Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think what he did is the following according to his last post: He build a usually fingerboard and inserted the frets. Then he routed down the areas between the frets and inserted the metal plates. And the reason I thought he cut off the tang is I only read the first line "I cuted the metal exact fit" And I figured O he cut off the tang no need to read more.
