New Design

i was playing around with some graph paper while listening to music last night, and i came up with a new guitar design. i've got quite a few designs laying around, but this is the first singlecut i've ever tried.

i'm just looking for some input; like it or don't? anything you'd change? this isn't to be built any time in the near future, just a "maybe some day" thing.

Almost a great design! Both sides of the waist should at least 'complement' each other in terms of motion, in my opinion-- which they currently don't. But all that would take is making the top one less dramatic or the bottom one more dramatic, with the curves echoing each other either way.

Good start. I like the right side. I think the waist on the left side needs to be a bit higher, centered on the bottom edge of the neck p/u route.

The right side reminds me of a mockingbird but I don't care for the left side

I agree with tirapop. The right side of the guitar is really awesome but the left upper bout is slightly larger than the mind expects it to be. (sometimes i sound stupid when im trying to sound smart)

I like it myself. Reminds me of a Fernandes Raven in shape. Go for it!

I like it, but GregP is right about the waist. It looks almost identical to this one that David Myka is working on. Not sure if you have seen it or not.

I auccually love the left side but don't care for the right side. IF you made the right side so it works better with the left I think it could be a cool design.

thanks for the comments. i've actually been playing around with that left side. i haven't found anything that i really like yet, so it's all still just on paper.

i hadn't seen that guitar of myka's. it looks really cool. especially those f-holes, very sleek looking.

Ok what i would do is get the right side of the waist to be the same sort of shape as the left. and have a slightly more rounded bottom. appart from that i think its great! Will do a quick pic to c what u think. (if i have time)

maybe if you cut like an inch off the top of the left side and brought out the left waist an inch or 2 and slimmed the bottom of it. but i like the design it looks cool.
