The price for the Epi Jr is the same that Musician Friend has, so I won't buy it at ebay if I can get it from MF at the same price. On the other 2 I can't coment, the LP looks good, and it has a TOM which on cheao guitars it is better than those cheapo tremolos

I've played one of those Essex Les Paul copies. Not bad, nothing to write home about. Does it sound anything like my real Gibson? Nope, not even close. But since it's about 5% of the cost of my Lester, I wouldn't expect it to. Sounds very much like a hardtail Strat with 2 humbuckers, except maybe a bit darker.

I remember when I was 16 working an entire summer at Taco Bueno so I could afford my real Fender Standard Strat and a decent Peavey practice amp to go with it. I could've bought a cheapo Austin or Samick copy and a little cigarette box amp for half the cost, but my Strat had the sound and feel I wanted and has never let me down. It still gets played as much as my new Lester, too, especially with the set of EMG-SAs I installed this year.

Get a job and buy the real deal. If you really want a BC Rich, don't stop until you get it. Those guitars you've listed don't even come close, and that Epi Jr. is a pile of junk, even at the less expensive Musicians Friend price.

have you been here?

i don't know your price range, but these guys are safe to buy from...i have bought two guitars from them with no problems whatsoever.

as far as the low end bc rich being better than the low end epiphone...well,i don't agree.both are decent starter guitars...BUT the bc rich is going to make you happier, because it looks like you want it to look..

especially look at these

on all of those..hit the "back "button below the pics and it will take you to the price.

they are all between $200 and $300

you will notice that some of them are on sale...like the first one...they are less than 1/2 of the list price.

guitar trader offers some very good prices.

I say save up and get this one.

Tt's 439 american, so roughly 534. I say save up between 550-575 (if theres any duty fees and all).

Seriously, it looks really nice, especially since it's about 50% off, marked from 899. For that much, that ebony fingerboard better be real.

Didn't you buy this one Wes?

i bought the black version of that..of course the ebony board is real...it is a looker of a guitar, but it requires special strings...

the neck pocket is not perfect, but the guitar works fine.

if i was not going to strip mine for the hardware,i would sell it...

but i suspect hughes(begginner, remember) needs a fixed bridge.

I'd buy any of those BCRs, 'cept for maybe the V, for a decent starter guitar. The big reason why I don't like the Epi Jr. is because I've played a few and the fretwork is atrocious. Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen it that bad on any top brand guitar. The frets just aren't level, and the edges are razor sharp. If you want a good project guitar, it's the way to go because you'll have a good time leveling and dressing all the frets, but for a reliable instrument I'd look elsewhere.
