komodo
Howdy, Sorry I haven't had any pics yet to put up, but I can put up some wood i just scored. It's only 1/2" thick, but I should be able to get a slight carve from that. KOMODO
jer7440
How wide is that board? It's gorgeous.

komodo
It's 35.5" x 11.25" wide .. only 1/2" thick though . . KOMODO
jer7440
Is 11.25 wide enough for your guitar body or are you going to book match like Bigd suggested?
Drak
Yeah, 11.25 ain't gonna cut most bodies, it will have to be resawn in half, although you should still squander two sets out of it. Nice wood, me likey. We shall see what you can do with some wood like that, eh?

Nice wood, me likey. We shall see what you can do with some wood like that, eh? ← The design I am currently working on is a slightly smaller (than typical) scaled body and if you were to angle the body template on this piece I may be able to get a few out of it. I will just have to try it when i get it. If there is no glueline in the middle, angling shouldn't be that big of a deal. I don't think I would resaw a 1/2" piece and bookmatch, I would rather have the thickness for carving and shaping. Drak-that second piece you had in your Mr Quilty post was awesome! I can only hope that this piece will get something similar! KOMODO
westhemann
if i had that wood,i would be thinking steinberger-esque... but that only uses part of it..and the rest i would bookmatchand top a vee with..if i could find someone to properly resaw it
