thegarehanman
Apparently it just mounts over the hole where your trem was. The back two holes straddle the trem route. Look here for more details. peace, russ Quote Link to comment
Gorecki
Apparently it just mounts over the hole where your trem was. The back two holes straddle the trem route. Look here for more details. ← Hmmm, they say covers standard trem holes even though most strat style trems are six in a row holes and this isn't. Also they say 'string thru' but the only thing I see is the same as a rear fed tail piece. I'd be curious to here how it fits with so many cheap trem's out there. Quote Link to comment
thegarehanman
I didn't read the string through part, but if it is supposed to be a string thru, I imagine you're just supposed to screw the block to it. Quote Link to comment
SawDust_Junkie
From what I can see in the pictures, there must be holes in the bottom plate below the saddles for the string-through. I assume the saddles are just adjusted forward to where you can't see them in the pictures. What I don't see are any mounting holes in the bottom plate of the bridge for mounting the old sustain block from the original tremolo bridge. I would think this would have some effect on the sustain and therefore tone qualities of this bridge versus the original tremolo bridge, no ? (on edit, I see what what gorecki was talking about. This is a rear fed bridge and not a string through) Edited January 6, 2006 by SawDust_Junkie Quote Link to comment
Thoughtless 7
I have a piece of wood wedged in there, plus all five springs. That bridge isn't moving anywhere (and the guitar stays in tune). Didn't cost me $49 either. Plus I have the option of un-blocking if I ever feel like it. ← I did the same thing minus 2 springs. I packed out the back with wood. Sturdy as a rock and stays in tune nicely. Quote Link to comment
thegarehanman
I wonder why they would call it a string through. Anyhow, I have no use for this. I just thought some of you strat guys would find it amusing. Quote Link to comment
~john~
It's ugly as hell, i wouldn't put that on a guitar if i was payed to do it. Quote Link to comment
