xadam270x
do brands make a difference or will any ol 500k pot (new of course) be the same as any other? xadamx
mammoth guitars
No. Not all pots are created equal. Some are smooth turning, some are not. Some are scratchy sounding, some are quiet. Some have have coarse knurled split shafts, some have fine and some have a solid shaft. Generally CTS are considered the best and those have a fine knurled split shaft. Many imports are very good as well and typically have a coarse knurled split shaft.

mammoth guitars
Make sure they're full size and not mini.

mammoth guitars
It's quite elementary Watson! Mini pots are bitch to solder especially if you have 1 volume and your soldering lots of wires to it.

Thoughtless 7
Got to agree with LK here. I've had no problem soldering mini pots. I just do what GodBlessTexas suggested.
