verhoevenc
Hey, I'm just wondering where you guys all get your veneers for accent lines in laminate neck blanks. LMII has bunch of colors, but not long enough for neck-thru blanks. I got a source for them in the UK fromt he Vampyre bass thread, but since I'm in the US that's not really a cost effective option for me. If anyone could let me know where ya'll get them that'd be great. Also, normal pricing??? Cause those ones at LMII seem a little pricey for what exactly they entail... mammoth guitars
Are you refering to a multi-laminate neck that might have 3-5 pieces? We make all of our pieces.
verhoevenc
No, i'm talking about the veneer accent lines in multi-lam. necks. But the REALLY thin lams. Not even 1mm wide. Accents, like the black ones flanking the bloodwood on prothesta's Vampyre build. Chris
Prostheta
To be honest, it's the first time I've come across veneers that thin Chris. I was originally going to go for ebony but the relative expense and the fact it doesn't *like* being think put pay to that one. I believe woods like sycamore and poplar tend to be easier to make into wafer thin veneer if that helps. Blackwood, kingwood and ebony just seem too brittle to hold their own. Google says..... verhoevenc
Oh, I know that ebony and the likes don't like going that thin, I'm fine with dyed ones, hence the "ebonIZED". Chris

SoundAt11
Those Bloodwood laminates are 1/8" thick, for reference. I've definitely found the quartersawn woods are more sturdy for the thin lams (suprise-suprise:-)).
verhoevenc
No no, on the SIDES of the bloodwood he's got black veneers. Chris
Canuck Brian
I picked up mine at Lee Valley. One of the most dangerous stores to be in on pay day lately.... Veneer rolls
Prostheta
That's the stuff, perhaps it's a little *too* thin? It's 3.5x thinner than the poplar I used!
Jon
What other deals have you seen Jon? Chris Other deals on Ebay similar to the site listed before. Mostly very small pieces that would be too small to be used in a guitar making. Way overpriced as well.
