7 String Guitar

So Guitar Guru's, Matt Bellamy of Muse use's a seven string guitar for a song called Citizen Erased. I can replicate the song by tuning my thick E string to A but what do you think Matt has his seven string tuned to?

well you tune down (i assume) to A and can play it so you would think he does the same,

are you playing all notes/chords in their original octave? would it be easier to play if you were tuned differently?

i think tim got it with D (ie all strings down 1 whole step) (A) D G C F A D

I don't know what Muse do but I have to fit a 57 guage string to stop it getting too loose at A. All the other strings are in regular tuning. What do you normaly tune a seven string to?

i tune mine to a# so a#,d#,g#,c#,f#,a#,d#.

"Standard" baritone tuning is B on the 7th string...but alot tune from A

7-string tuning is standard guitar tuning with an added lower string tuned to a pefect fourth.

Low - High B - E - A - D - G - B - E

Another odd tuning to check out that is based around 6 and 7-string tunings is one Tool used for "Parabola". The two lower strings are tuned down to a 7-string while the rest are in standard. B - E - D - G - B - E. I love that song.
