Dunlop jimi hendrix wah is my favorite. I would definitely recomend it but I always recomend trying stuff yourself before buying or in this case asking for christmas. You my hear more favorites of the jimi, get it, and then hate it, or love it. You can't say the outcome but I would recomend it as a great wah for whatever style of music you might be playing.

I've got the original hendrix dunlop (JH-1 i think?) on permanant loan from a friend and dont rate it too highly, its definitely the darkest wah I've used, heel down your guitar disappears and toe down is pretty close to bypass.

I'd recommend the cheap and very adjustable behringer to get a feel for different wah sounds before splashing out on a high end one, even then the behringers so good (especially after the range extension mod) you may not even want upgrade..

I like my lucky Cry-Baby wah, tough, bitey and expresive. It's lucky because I once left it at a pub, next day the bartender phones me up and says a customer left his phone number and I should call him, I did and the dude said you forgot your wah, come over and pick it up. I went over with some beers and my prodigal wah was returned, now when I play it, it always reminds me that there are some cool people in the world.

Yeah I know the story would be a million times better if a hot babe had picked up the pedal and opened the door in her bikini :D

Hey borge you say that the original one was too dark? I never tried one but the one I have is a newer one that I think get a nice honk in heel down and really screams in toe down position. This is why I said you should always try first because everyone has their own opinion.

I like my Dunlop Crybaby: 535Q. It lets you dial in the Q variance (amount of tonal difference), and it lets you dial in how far you want the frequency between completely open and completely closed.

That doesn't make sense i guess... You'll have to try one, because i don't know how to explain it. But that's the one that I like.
