Lex Luthier
How long have you guys been building guitars? I built my first guitar, an acoustic from scratch, when I was still in elementary school 7 years ago. How 'bout you?

bluespresence
I've been fixing them and modifying them for too many years (20+) but never built one from the ground up until this year. Fixing them gives me the skills I need and satisfaction of a good repair, modifying them lets me build on someone else's great ideas and incorporate my own and building them lets me do it all. This is a cool gig!

Guest AlexVDL
7 years ago (1996) a master Luthier gave me the chance to build a guitar from scratch... so I did. It turned out so well I built another one the next year. From there on I have been building 3 more guitars in my spare time, but school has been very busy the last year so I haven't got much time to build anymore, so finishing guitar no.5 has been delayed a while Soon I'm going to work on 3 guitars at the same time. They will be no. 6, 7 and 8 (3 relic strats from scratch/blanks)
ovation22
I've been piecing them together for a few years. I just got brave enough (after I found this site) to start my first scratch built body. I'm hoping to have that done in the next few months... StreamLine
8 months. newbie luthier but i'm gonna start first major project (building a 7 string from scratch in late march), as previous was just over the top modding........ i spent 4 times as much on parts for modding, as i spent on actual guitar in the first place, lol even its ugly chinise factory-of-a-mother wouldnt recognise it now Roman
