verhoevenc Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 So I know what my personal preference is. However, seeing as I'm working on a batch of 7 guitars right now... chances are it's not important for ALL of them to be MY favorite guitar. So, let's here what kind of music you guys play, what "style" guitar you like, trem or no trem, and subsequently how the previous things impact your preferred 'string-to-edge' of fretboard spacing. Also, if you have a different spacing for the low E and high e let's hear it! I'll start: Rock/"Gibson style"/no trem/1/8" on both sides. Thanks, Chris Quote
sam_c Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 rock/fender style/floating trem/ 1/8" both sides Quote
WezV Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 i generally go for 3mm - so erm, 1/8" Quote
DC Ross Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) Either 3/32" or 1/8" Edited November 22, 2010 by DC Ross Quote
verhoevenc Posted November 22, 2010 Author Report Posted November 22, 2010 Huh. That's funny, cause I could have SWORN 1/8", or there abouts, is pretty standard... which it seems to be. But when I measured some factory guitars I have they're generally more. Some even almost 3/16". Hence the question. It seems factories may no be building to what we knowledgeable guys actually like to play Keep 'um comin'! Chris Quote
DC Ross Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 FYI: The American Deluxe Strat, PRS Custom 24 and 70s Les Paul Custom are all 9/64" Quote
