HenryM
Hi everyone. I have been making Jackson RR style guitar from Black walnut at woodworking course for two days now I started with 2 meter blank of black walnut that was bought from local lumber yard for 80 euros. For guitars neck and body wing I cutted the blank to half so I can make two guitars from one blank. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx246/A...34/IMG_1190.jpg As you can see the guitar is made from two peace. This picture has been taken after one day of work. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx246/A...34/IMG_1194.jpg And after two days of working. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx246/A...34/IMG_1217.jpg Tomorrow is another day on the course and I hope to get it final sanded down to 320 grid and maybe spray few coats of 2k clear lacquer. This has been very quick build, becouse of pre made frettboard and also RR being easy shape to make, so not too much sanding to shape. :D More WIP pictures at http://s760.photobucket.com/albums/xx246/A...;cpZZ2QQtppZZ20 Edited December 11, 2010 by HenryM

Quit essential if I want to make enything on three day course I wish I could get myself to do more planning before building. During my recent build at some stages I was running back and forth from the shed to the house getting measurements, it was very chaotic Nice looking work btw and I'm amazed how clean the floors are! HenryM
Now... some pictures from finished guitar. pick up might be changed after few weeks of playing, becouse in local music shop there were no pickups on my price range so I had to use one left over pickup. http://s760.photobucket.com/home/Artist334/index

Once I get my seven string done I might do one like this you will have to send me the plans if you can. What kind of pickup is in it? I was also trying to figure out how you got this done so early in the morning since it's 7:30 a.m. here ... then I Remembered the eight hour time difference. Pickup is one of those very cheap humbuckers from brand called DR parts. But I will buy something like Emg 81 or some passive one to this later. As I scaled this from internet it might not be just exact but I can sen measurements if you want. BTW are you coming to finland next summer or...(did you say something like that few months ago)? 3DogNate
Looks good for such a fast build... However I'm not a fan of the thick wooden pickguard... nor the front mounted jack. Aside from those 2 things I'm a fan of the overall build.

Well if you are interested in Seymour Duncan pickups I have paperwork pending with them to become a dealer so maybe we can get something figured out down the line. I am not sure if we are heading over there yet. I think we are but I am not sure yet.
HenryM
Nice to hear that. Are you setting up your own custom guitar shop?
Prostheta
Hey Henry - good to see you still at work! I actually like that pickguard as it seems to suit the V somewhat. Is the nut stable? I presume it's sitting in a slot at the end, as there looks like there could be room for movement. Otherwise, leaps and bounds since your first one. Juntunen Guitars
Nice to hear that. Are you setting up your own custom guitar shop? Well now I am legal to sell online with a business name so Once I finish building my website (which has been on hold for months) I will have an online store set up on there and on Ebay for selling Seymour Duncan pickups if the paper work is approved. As for my guitar building, I don't think I am good enough yet to market them so I won't be setting up a custom shop name or whatever you want to call it ... in fact I wouldn't have time to anyways now. I am going to college for guitar and violin building and repair so I won't have time to build conventionally anyways, otherwise I am just building for friends and doing repairs.
