Jude
I'm working on a 85% headless Tele for use as a travel/practice guitar. I was considering putting a speaker in it. Anybody have any lessons learned? I was going to use the 2w preamp from guitar fetish and a 2-1/2 full range speaker. Thanks
curtisa
Maybe look into what other people have done? Putting the speaker between the bridge pickup and the neck, and dispensing with a neck pickup seems popular. Don't forget that a large part of the sound of a plugged-in guitar is the result of piping the sound through a limited range 10" or 12" speaker that doesn't reveal too much detail at the top end of the audio spectrum. Putting a full range speaker in will probably make for quite a harsh listening experience, especially with any overdrive added.
Andyjr1515
Haven't we seen someone on here recently do one too? A nice looking cherry red? I'll try to dig down into my unreliable memory resources.
mistermikev
I've built a few of these... http://www.runoffgroove.com/ruby.html very easy, sounds great, batteries last forever in it, surprisingly loud.
Jude
Thanks, I just assumed I'd want full range. If there is a better choice, I'd be happy to hear about it. Any tips on speaker installation would be especially helpful.
